Hi! Yes, it had been warm and muggy here (Indian Summer I guess), but when I run in the mornings it isnt _too_ bad, like 70-75 degrees.

Thanks! Though at the same time I'm also trying to lose weight and I feel like I need to "cut" carbs. Guess its hard for me to find the happy balance. Can you give me some thoughts on which foods are good/bad for the running part, while I can still lose weight, and portions? What is glycogen? I'm such a newbie!

Yes, grams over goal. I don't think I'm significantly under consuming fat/carbs, but I am cutting them down.

Hey Running Friends! OP here with a GREAT UPDATE! I DID MY 5K!!! :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile: I ran (jogged) the WHOLE thing! I didnt walk once! I finished in 39 minutes! So freaking proud of myself. My brother in law was such a great support, he's a runner too, but he kept with me the whole time. Thanks everyone here…

OP check in again! I cant believe it!!! Monday I actually ran for 2 miles straight!!! ^_^ And in under 25 minutes :happy: Never thought I could do that. Whenever I felt myself start to gasp, I slowed it down until I wasn't. WOOT! 5k in 3 weeks here I come!

OP reporting in with an update on her running! did C25k Week 5 Day 3 this morning, which was daunting in that it was the 5 min warm up and cool down, but instead of 2-3 runs broken up by some walking it was a straight _20 minute run_!!!!!!!!!! Mon, weds and fri are my couch-to-5k running program, of which I just finished week 4 (might repeat it), those same evenings, (mostly) I do kickboxing class for 30mins (unless I have a work meeting or such, then just 2 eves a week). Tues and Thurs are gym days, where I do 20-25mins of elliptical trainer and then 15-20mins…

OP here! Did my Week 4, Day 3 of C25K this morning and I took the advice that was given here about _slowing down_. It changed by overall pace to a 13.9 min/mile, completed the intervals doing 1.61 miles in 21:30. I did my BMR and TDEE calculations, for me it comes out that I should be eating over 2000 calories a day!! Just cant wrap my head around that one...plus I really dont think I can even _force_ myself to eat that much. I was hard for me today to just get above 1400 :noway: How is this even real? Thanks guys! I'm really a newbie at all this, so your advice means a lot. I do have a very sedentary job, the only activity I have is when I do my work outs (ie I sit at a desk 8+ hours every day) So even with that I should be eating more around 1400+ calories a day?
