There is not an easy way of drawing the line, but clearly a slice of lemon and a clove of garlic I would not even worry about. It's the 1/4 cup of flour added to a stew to thicken it, or the olive oil used to brown the meat, or the 2 cans of tomatoes you put in a sauce, or the other higher calorie ones ... However, there…

Glad you enjoyed it ... I had an experience at the Y (YMCA) recently where there was a significantly larger male working out in the corner ... I kept trying to catch his eye to give him a smile or a nod ... but he never looked up :( ... in either case, he is awesome to me. But yes, I loved the blog too ... it was powerful,…

September 15th is her birthday, so we're doing in "on" her 16th birthday ... just to clarify :)

Did the Warrior Dash this year and doing it a 2nd time on September 15th (in Michigan) with my 16 year old daughter ... she wants to do it for her birthday so we're running it together :)

This is how I feel. I came across this blog and thought I'd share ... http://flintland.blogspot.com/2012/05/hey-fat-girl.html

"One day"? ... don't even think twice. I'd always recommend looking at your caloric intake at a weekly basis ... eat a healthy amount but don't get wrapped up in the day to day ... that being said, I'm not a nutritionist or doctor! lol ... just sounds logical to me! :) ~Me

I would not worry about it ... the problem is that typed words never carry emotion ... so many people have taken me (and I have take others) the wrong way because there is more to communication than words (body language, tone, eye contact, etc.) I could easily see the words: "Uuuumm... I don't eat meat, so no." said in a…

Sounds normal to us ... I actually added household products (about $200/month) we're at about $1200/month ... (400 a week) ... (family of 6) ... but a lot of people I talk to who spend less on groceries eat out more ... we are probably less than once a month at a restaurant ...
-
Family of 6, and rarely we do we out to eat, else it may be shifted ... but for us about $800-$1000 per month ... so 200-250 per week ... and buying relatively healthy food (much of it organic) it can be very tight sometimes. But of course, country/state/area/store can vary greatly.

Awesome! =)

And as I've seen here also mentioned by others ... races. I forgot that one ... having something on the calendar gives me more reason to work out other than just exercise ... training for something tangible is always more motivating to me.

I pretend there is bacon in front of me! Ha! :) OK, not really ... *thinking* ... hmm ... that may work though ... For me, it's my goal ... I am now setting weekly and monthly goals ... so I have something specific to shoot for. ~Matt

Ha, I guess so ... I answered my own question :) http://southamericanfood.about.com/od/fusionfare/r/Vegetarian-Quinoa-Sushi-With-Sweet-Potatoes-And-Caramelized-Onions.htm Not sure about the fillings, but conceptually it's obviously been done with quinoa ... may try tonight

Nope. Though the foodie in me would find it interesting to look for alternatives ... I'll always make it with medium white rice as it's awesome, but as an alternative I think this thread may be interesting to see ideas.
-
I wonder what you could do with quinoa ... I make my own and have often tried substitutes ... brown rice is "ok" ... but quinoa sushi would be pretty interesting ... the problem is the lack of starch to make it "sticky" so it doesn't fall all over the place ... anyone try with quinoa?

I almost snorted ...

Food and cooking should be fun, so long as we control the food and it doesn't control us! Aside from my closet addiction (due to the presence of the MFP diet-soda police) of Coke Zero, I am pretty much a "real-food" eater ... there are so many natural awesome ingredients out there, and as a foodie, it's fun to come up with…

I'm not a nerd or geek. I'm just awesome :) Which reminds me to dust off my binary clock on my desk ... some people think it's just a blinking desk accessory ... *sigh*

Whatever you do, don't have "just one pizza roll" ... cuz there is no such thing! :) I'd just call it a day ... but if you must, reach for protein ... yogurt, cottage cheese ... umm ... a slice of bacon! =)
