I don't watch biggest loser on purpose anymore but I might leave it on if I stumble across it. I do like extreme weight loss makeover, I like the fact that it takes place over a year and is done at the contestants home.

My wife has been amazing, she has always been my best friend but she has made sacrifices for me to get healthy and she supports me to no end. I do most of the cooking but now when she cooks she keeps me in mind even though she and the kids are all fit. She lets me have my gym time when I can't go at times that are best for…

Back in my glory days 5 pints was a good start or my warm-up if you will except I wasn't working out or playing sports anymore. These days I hardy drink ( maybe 6 occasions all of 2013) but when I do I go all out. The question I would love to have answered is "what effect will alcohol consumption (excessive= more than 5…

One day at a time. Forget 80lbs the goal always changes anyway, you might lose 50 and feel great and only shoot for 10 more or you might decide 90lbs is reachable either way break it down into 5 or 10lb increments ( short attainable goals) that will keep you going. Give yourself a big pat on the back each time you reach…

Good stuff, the best part is its always a continual learning process. 4 years way to keep on keepin on!

I think I know where OP is coming from. Most of my adult life my stomach has just been a huge round undefined blob, fast forward 90lbs lost and it's like holy crap "I can actually see the outline of what appears to be a stomach" it's not defined abs but it is great progress. She is starting to see where her midsection…

Try to remember why you started. Join a fitness challenge or take a new class at the gym, start a new weight lifting program . Take a week off completely from logging or exercising and just chill. Anything that you can do to come back with a renewed or greater enthusiasm. Look back on how far you've come and celebrate it.…

it depends. What do you get for the $300? Last year I did a 10 week fit challenge for $300.00 but I got 5 30 min training sessions, nutrition counseling and weigh in every 10 days. I didnt win the challenge but it sparked me to lose nearly 100lbs and 40 plus inches off my body, best money I ever spent. In your case there…

I was a "husky" kid by junior high I shot up to 5'11" 250 I was tall my mom didn't want to hurt my feelings by going on a diet. By the time I graduated high school I was 6'2" 340....I guess you could say she nearly loved me to death. The thyroid is a bit different though I would ask the doctor what maintenance for him…

Don't beat yourself up. Turn the page and start fresh tomorrow and remind yourself of why you started in the first place.

You got this! Exercise and fitness goals I found were a tremendous anti depressant. I tried other things but at the end of the the only thing that made me stop hating myself was accomplishing goals that I set for myself and bang them out. You mentioned 150lbs, get that number out of your head that's way to overwhelming for…

This might not be useful to you but I would do C25K agains and up the pace, shoot for 6.0 mph (10:00 min pace) I'm doing the c25k right now and did the 5k in just under 40 min but that with quite a bit of walking and I never ran more than 3 minutes straight ( I'm in week 3) if you can run that far already you can…

Go for it! I hated the gym I even told my wife "I will never be a gym person" I went to the gym 218 days according to my swipe card!

You look terrific, I think the mini goals are a great way to stay on track and keeps things fresh. Quick question though. Did you quit smoking before, during or after losing weight? Did it slow things down for you? Quitting smoking is next on my list.
