Thanks for the support I would also like to add that I donated 3 garbage bags full of clothing today that no longer fit. I am glad to get rid of them and my closets look at lot more organized!

This is gross but I wear compression otherwise I think I hear people clapping for me while I run when it's really just my loose belly smacking against my body. I wear a normal tee shirt over the compression shirt

I don't know how you lasted as long as you did. I know one thing is don't beat yourself up over it, turn the page and move on. Secondly and this is just my opinion if you can't comfortably eat the way you are now for the rest of your life then you should reconsider how you eat. This is hard enough to do as it is, no need…

How much time in the gym will it take to make up for this decision

It never going to work the age thing gets worse not better. Image being a vibrant 36 year old with a 50 year old hermit. Throw kids in the mix and you have a recipe for disaster

You need to do a complete 180 on your priority. Food tracking and establishing your TDEE come first then the gym will help push the weight loss along. It's been said in many of the forums before and I agree 100% weight loss is 80% nutrition 20% exercise. The 20% exercise is really just to maintain LBM help with body recomp…

Thank you so much for sharing. It was bittersweet for me reading this because it was my life story and I f&cking hate the person that I was and the miserable nightmare I called a life. I brings back some deep wounds but it also keeps me focused on going strong. I keep moving forward because I don't want any part of what's…

I feel the exact same way about: going to work, play dates for my kids, cleaning the house, laundry, mowing the lawn, doctor visits, PTA meetings and shoveling snow. But I do it anyway because I know it has to get done. ETA: I remember telling my wife a year ago how much I hated the gym and that "I'll never be a gym…

I did it/doing it because I wanted to feel "normal" for the first in my life. Buy clothes at regular stores, fit in airplane seats, not get discriminated against on job interviews (image is important in my profession) not feel achy and depressed. Those were the things that got me started. The things that keep me going are…

In the beginning if I barely got up the 4th rep on BP I didn't do the 5th and just did the same weight the next time. I have always got it the next time. As the weight got heavier I use the squat rack for BP with the safety bars just below chest level as I always workout alone.

It was -4 degrees here in NY I really didn't want to go to the gym, I was sore and lethargic but I forced myself to go. Every rep was a struggle but I got through it and went beyond my normal workout. These are the days that prove to me that I have really changed

Dude you are the man. Single digit % body fat wow. That is maximum effort and just a tremendous weight loss. It seems that you have mentally accepted the probably only real consequence of your success and that's great because now you can just let it be. I once contemplated Skin removal surgery in the future once I was at…

Nice booty!

Eating earlier has nothing to do with weight loss. I eat ice cream every night at 10 pm and have about 11% body fat... [/quote Damn you!

You guys all know that unless you are ready and committed not even money can make you suddenly determined to lose weight unless we're talking thousands but even then your just doing it for the money. After you receive the reward are you really a changed person? My theory is if you really did change you probably won't even…

Great point! There is a college sophomore that works for me in the summers who was blown away by my weight loss and he confided in me that one of the most important classes he's ever taken in his life was a nutrition class in college. He's in good shape but had no idea of the consequences of poor nutrition. Nutrition…

Pick one day a week to weigh yourself preferably in the morning after you pee. Wear your boxers or whatever you wear or raw dog. Once a week that's it or you will be going nuts for the next few months

When I was depressed it was hard to move, my body ached my mind resisted rational thoughts and I clearly didn't care what I ate because after all I had convinced myself I was worthless. The one thing that saved me was exercise. I refused to take meds and I had read that exercise is a natural anti depressant so I joined a…

First and foremost, I hope Kevin and his family get through this and we can all celebrate him walking again some day soon! This scares me and focuses me at the same time, if a trained professional can suffer from an accident like this what does it mean for the rest of us. I don't do crossfit but I do squats and overhead…

While I have lit a spark in some people we don't do it together. Just make sure that you keep the focus on you, now is the time to be a little selfish. Don't make it about them keep your goals your routine your schedule and if they can fit in around your life great. If not so be it.
