Agreeing with this. There's a saying: " If one person says something, you can probably ignore it. If 10 people say the exact same thing, there's probably some truth to it."

I've had a similar experience with flax. I can tolerate it in small amounts, like bread, but too much and I'm in the bathroom about 10 minutes after consumption. :/

Who measured your body fat percentage and how? If you're working from a body fat scale at home, those can be TERRIBLE in error.

This. A million times, this. WHY would you put up with that treatment? * Sigh. * To each there own though. If you're happy in your relationship, who are we to judge?

Simple. Don't do anything you can't live the rest of your life doing. I learned that hard lesson after leaving here and gaining 15 lbs after losing 5. I just couldn't sustain things I hated. I now have healthy foods I like, I raised my cal limit to .5 lb loss a week, and I plan on 95% of my exercises being ones I enjoy…

I finally made them too! LOVED them.

Ohhhh goodness, let's not talk about Craig's List definition of platonic... The level of creepy is over 9,000.

Thanks for the replies guys! It's nice to know I'm not alone out there with the interests.... Squid, I never said I danced well. <_<; Epsilon, what kinda' comic books? :) Congrats also on the couple of kgs left!

Wow, more replies? Did not see that coming. I suppose that's good though! I LOVED that dance video that was posted. Amazing. Also, I had no idea about that with Tango, but then again, I haven't really thought that much about taking tango lessons. Riiiight now, my top two are salsa and belly dancing! (Salsa first though,…

Hello! I'm 22 and want to lose 87 lbs! I know it's now 100+, buuuut it's pretty freakin' close. :) Please feel free to add me, anyone and everyone not creepy.

Welcome to MFP!

O_O Sheee is epic.

Seriously???? I mean, I like belly dancing, but I surely thought I was too overweight for that one. I've NEVER seen a large belly dancer...... Maybe I should look that up online. That would be fun.

Why not do something that focuses on technique instead of flailing? Like if you like kickboxing, take a real kickboxing course. If you like dancing to get fit, take a real dancing course. I HATE kickboxing videos because my boyfriend does MMA. I can feel the difference when HE teaches me how to throw a punch versus when…

Is there a local community college near you? If so, they might have a karate course you could take. The age group would be older, probably 20's-40's usually. Of course, you'd have to talk to the college about just registering for one course, lol. But it's an idea!

Just got your add request and accepted. :) I have the same issues with normal exercise! I saw you want to exercise on Saturdays, why not look for a cheap, local dance class too on Saturdays? I mean, wouldn't hurt! Of course Just Dance is crazy fun and I would enjoy doing just that myself, haha! (Hence why I want an xbox…

I didn't think it was. :) I thought she looked really natural, actually. I was like " Dang, that's actually a little impressive." Then I thought about taking some classes of that myself.
-
Aw, thank ya' Colleen. :) I should take a page or two outta' your book when it comes to my family, lol. Ya' got confidence for daaaays. ^_^

So, I appreciate the overwhelming support of this post. You're all wonderful and you've made me feel much more confident. I found a dance class I'm going to start. :) Super excited. Begins in two weeks. I emailed them to ask about shooooe choice. I'd eventually LOVE to find a reggaeton class. To the "are you serious"…

Yeah, honestly, it also completely discourages me from trying out a martial art. I'm hoping that dancing could lead to me trying one of those out as well. I just found a salsa class I'm going to sign up for before I can talk myself out of it. Maybe this could serve as an inspiration to others? I dunno'! I'm just hoping…

I've never heard of contra dance. Thank you for bringing a new style to my attention! I'll youtube it immediately. :D

Thank you everyone! I'm always impressed by this community bringing REAL answers to the table. I wanted to hear about realistic expectations of dancing and from people who had experience or just honest answers in general. I hadn't thought much about joints, but luckily, mine are fair. As for the balance and flexibility, I…

I actually think you look smaller in the one on the right. You look fit, so don't worry so much! :) I think it's because you chose to do different poses and also, you're clothed. There's no telling what changes occurred you can't see. :D

What I like to do is eat enough to feel good, while keeping in mind my calorie budget, but I also have days where I eat over my budget intentionally every so often. You could always look up your TDEE and go from there. :) A lot of people seem to do well around 1,200, but things like this are totally individual. Find what…

Honestly, at this point, I'd talk to your doctor about your current methods and lack of weight loss, as well as asking them to refer you to a nutritionist. There could be a reason for you to have a slowed metabolism or your diet might be lacking! I think it's best to let a professional handle this. Certainly don't eat less…

Hello all! I'll be 22 in two days. :) I'm currently in school, attempting to get into an Occupational Therapy program. I have around 70 lbs or so to lose to be at my ideal bmi. (Currently 5'3" and 217.5 lbs.)

Hi there! I really recommend doing some exercise and maybe bumping up your calories to what feels good for you. If you're going over, it's likely that's okay since your current goal is only 1200 calories. Every body is individual. Anyway, if you start exercising, after the initial " OH MY GOD MY CARDIO SUCKS" period,…

Hahaha. Oh that's terrible! :P ...Maybe I should give baked goodies away more, lol.
