  • It wasn't just any one particular thing, it was many things... Not in any particular order: 1) Realizing that the "fat pants" I bought last year were a size 40 waist and were starting to get tight on me. 2) Recent trip to the doctors office and I tipped the scale at a little over 260 lbs 3) EVERYTHING was more difficult.…
  • I've found that working out fairly hard is a great way to manage stress...
  • Im not a lady, but the one thing I have noticed is that the closer you stick you your calorie goal, the MORE weight you lose.
  • So how does it work when you eat 1000-1200 calories AND exercise? I have a hard time believing that a persons metabolism will slow down while at the same time that person is getting 50-60 minutes of cardio or resistance training a day.
  • Probably about 60 days for me...Id say ten pounds was lost during the past 5 weeks. A couple of key things I have found that work for me is that during exercise you need to push yourself as hard, or harder as you can. Also, switching up your exercise routine helps also..I'll randomly switch my workouts around so that one…
  • i think there have been times where I have come close to that number in one sitting. :(
  • Not really an expert on this but my guess is yes... You may also want to look into programs and fitness routines that are designed around using your own body weight.
  • Honestly, I've gone back and forth with getting a HRM for years, and most recently a fitbit.... Im probably the odd man out, but I don't really see a practical application for these gadgets unless you have a medical need to monitor your HR.. Sure, its neat to have access to the information that HRM and fitbits provide, but…
  • Dont worry about it too much but do use it as a learning experience. After two weeks of being good on my diet I binged on a bag of blue corn chips and container of Hummus last night around ten pm... Both were gone in one setting... :( What have I learned from that ? Until I am able to exercise more self control I have no…
  • So many factors contributed to me getting to my most recent weight of 260 lb... Bottom line is I got lazy, unmotivated and spent alot of time sitting around all day doing nothing but eating the past 3-5 years, I am sure there were some days I would be eating 2000 calories in one shot, such as the times I would sit down and…
  • Not related to your topic, but you might want to think about being careful with running and being heavy...That is alot of stress to be putting your joints through IMO. I weigh 250 lbs, and have no plans on getting back into running until I drop to about 200 lbs...
  • I think you really need both... I am 250 lbs, and am mainly trying for weight loss now and don't want to get bulked up. FOr the past moth I am trying to stick to a routine where one week I will do intense cardio 3x a week and cardio + weights 2x week..another week I will just do intense cardio 5 times a week.
  • To be honest, my personal opinion is that counting calories burned from exercising is really nothing more than guess work and is far from exact. Different methods will give you different determinations, but they all seem to be within 10% of one another so I think you are safe just using one of the online calculators that…
