bottom line is I don't know why so many of you are getting so upset over a girl with insecurities. and all I said was that being overweight is definitely less accepted than being a normal weight is, therefore the insecurity will be at a higher level. i personally have been judged by said 'trophy wives' and 'meatheads' when…

I definitely agree with building people up instead of knocking them down. it goes back to the simple fact that in society today, being overweight is looked down upon and being fit is praised, accepted and desired. as we all know, weight loss is a slow and steady process so no matter how healthy we might be, people will…

i definitely feel where you're coming from. my depression landed me in the ICU for 10 days at one point because i couldn't stand myself anymore. i had to dig deep, and although i have gone to therapy, its been years. i just woke up one day and did it. its hard to gain self control but its a practice that can be mastered…

I started out around 270 and I used Leslie Sansone's "Just Walk" DVDs. They are awesome! 12 minute "miles" full of modifiable aerobics, cardio and strength training. its not very intense but you DO burn some major calories! Depending on how hard I try, I burn anywhere from 100-150 calories per mile! now everyones…

someone may have already mentioned this one, but my favorite is "nothing changes if nothing changes." this quote helped me make the necessary changes to lead the healthy lifestyle ive always wanted!

that's what I'm saying!! ever since i began my journey, I've been more than happy to talk about health and fitness day and night lol i love love loveeee hearing success stories and how people get themselves there! but more often than not people tend to be rude. i mean i can't expect much else, it is a social media. but i…

I was just trying to be friendly more than anything that's the thing! i don't think they were dumb questions or commonly searched ones. i was just lookin to open conversations but no one seemed to be happy about it!

I just found it completely bizarre how cold some of the people on these forums can be. I asked once 'what are the best tips for weight loss and exercise?" just to see if there were any new tricks I could use for motivation and with cravings and I got responses like 'get up and move.' and 'eat well." very bitter and…

i am using a data collecting program to lose weight, not so it will run my life like it has in the past. i started at 271 and ate 1200 calories and burned 4-500 6 days a week. tracking every. single. speck. of food that went in me. i lost 55 pounds but gained some of it back because it wasn't sustainable for me. so that's…

its only because I've had a problem with restriction and i am trying to allow myself to not panic over the little things like overindulging in fruit that's all
-
i have just had issues with eating too little and binging and all that, so the numbers really scare me that's all. but thank you. i appreciate the advice
-
i didn't even know you could do that lol but is sugar super important? i usually focus on calories but i keep hearing different things so im not entirely sure where my main focus should really be
-
thanks guys! I am aware of the basics- (calories in vs. calories out, weighing and tracking food correctly, becoming more active in general, ect.) but pre planning meals is something I've tried in the past and kinda fell short on. imma give that a try, thanks guys!
-
you are amazing!! such an inspiration! congratulations. I wish you much success on your journey :)

im no fitness guru myself, but I tend to eat back some of my calories burned, but not all. I feel like everything about diet and exercise differs on a case to case basis so with this, Id just try the 1500 goal but If you do work out and still feel hungry, go ahead and have a snack! what do you use to track your calorie…

hi! my name is Erica and I have also had a rocky fitness journey. I lost 50 pounds between july-january of this past year and unfortunately gained 30 of it back. I'm back down 10 pounds so I only have 20 more to lose to be back at -50. my motivation went completely dead and I am in it for the long run this time! I am 21…

sometimes just wanting it isn't enough. I've been big my whole life and always had confidence issues. theres a few things that I think about when I feel really unmotivated. for some reason thinking this helps me- "the days will go by regardless of if you eat well and exercise or not. make them count." I stopped looking at…
