I started running again! I haven't run in 17 years! I think it will take me a while to get back up to 45/60 minutes, so I'm HAPPY to run for 30 minutes :)

I would suggest mixing up your exercise routine too. Every once in a while your body gets used to what your doing, and becomes more efficient, using less energy for the exercise performed. There are a lot more technical terms for what happens and why, but switching to something different for a month or 6 weeks has broken…

Technically my NSV is from Friday.....and from certain angles not a victory. But I'm rolling with it. When I first found MFP in July I had altered a thrift store awful dress into a pretty skirt that was still just a bit too small thinking that it would fit in no time; it wound up in the back of my closet. I felt like…

I shovelled, dragged, and dumped dirt for 2 1/2 hours to fill garden boxes :) Doubled the garden space in our yard this week! Good exercise and even more fruit and veggies this season!

Buy some brand new jeans!!! Then get fine tuning with my sport training ;-)

After years of hating every picture and video I see myself in, I haven't come across one I don't like lately! I love them all....first take! :)

I agree with India and the other posters.....except that I thought I was a carb addict until I started MFP and realized I was just a second helping of everything addict :) I joined in July and have lost 40 lbs in the last six months, more importantly I have noticed a huge improvement in my favourite sport! It's like I'm…

Won more games than I lost at my badminton tournament last weekend! I feel faster and stronger than ever, even better than when I gave it up at 20! I'm proud to consider myself an athlete again, rather than just wishing I was in better shape! :) :)

Turning 35 this year!! :)

Lol I just spit popcorn at the iPad laughing....I guess I don't have the best aim. I just realized I'm actually eating popcorn checking out the boards....I'm my own GIF :)

^^^ This, totally. I spent a week at a resort....buffet, drinks on the beach....i'm not gonna lie, I went up for seconds sometimes and drank more mojitos in one week than over the whole year combined. As fun as that was, I'm happy to get back to weighing and logging food. Definitely indulgent, but in no way a "crash and…

Yep, I've been losing weight all over! Down a 1/2 shoe size and had put my rings on a chain, I'll be getting them resized when I'm ready for maintenance.

I love the encouraging comments from my MFP friends! I've never had anyone say anything negative. The whole point of having friends on MFP is for encouragment, I would simply unfriend them. I eat whatever I want and fit it into my calories for the day/week. Some of my friends may be eating "clean" or low carb or whatever,…

What an awesome thread! You know what I noticed right away with my kids and felt more than a little guilty over? When I started tracking portions and calories there was no more going back for seconds, or thirds. I was modelling that behaviour! :( Now that I'm not, the kids' seconds have all but disappeared (within…

Week 1: 172 Week 2:170 Week 3:169 Week 4:168 Week 5: Week 6: Total lost so far: 4 lbs Looks like it won't be 10 lbs for me....6 lbs in 2 weeks is not going to happen! I'm going to keep happy with every little loss! I'm less than 20 lbs from a healthy weight for my height, so these last few are going to take some extra time…

I've only been really trying to make better choices and tracking my progress since July 1st. I don't really make goals, but I have a goal weight of being in the healthy BMI range for my height. I don't have a specific date in mind to meet that goal, but I'll get there when I get there. It took me 10 years to put on the…

When I first started I was curious about which method was better, having MFP give me a lower calorie limit and eat back some exercise calories, calculate TDEE and making sure I kept to my exercise schedule, or eat what my goal weight's BMR + activities would be. When I worked it all out for my stats, I figured that the…

I weighed 200 with my second pregnancy in 2008, and again was up to 200 this past June when I found MFP and said That's it! Right now I'm 175 (where I've mostly maintained over the last 10 years) with a goal of 155/60 (what I weighed before pregnancy 1 in 2004) Half way there and never coming back!!! :)

I'm usually about 1400-1700 and I think my diary's public.

Agree! For me a candy apple and handfuls of my kids Halloween candy was awesome these last 2 weeks.....but it's over now. (As a Canadian I already celebrated Thanksgiving.....lots of healthy soups made out of the leftovers :)

I absolutely weigh everything when I'm preparing meals.....luckily that's most of the time. Sometimes I wish potatoes weighed less :) but sometimes I'm surprised at how much fits on my plate. I tried estimating for a while, but I overestimated and my weight loss stalled. Once I started weighing my food again I was back on…
