  • Thanks for keeping this going AprilStar! Congratulations to everyone!
  • Oh yes poutine! From Harvey's, slathered with gravy and cheese curds. I miss Ontario! I haven't dared to figure out how many calories was in a large but I still dream of it.
  • Do you eat any vegetables? I only went back a week but that stood out. Are you weighing out your cup of cereal? Are those homemade recipes yours that you input here or someone else's from the search? Did you only eat one gnocchi? Is that what the 1/8 cup was?
  • ljdanny, I'm so sorry to hear that your mom is declining so rapidly. Don't worry about us, take care of yourself. :) Everyone else - if you could add your weight to the spreadsheet, post it here or PM me by showtime tomorrow, that would be awesome. Also, how well did you do at the "marathon" challenge? I danced my butt off…
  • Congratulations to everyone who lost weight this week! Every little bit is a step in the right direction. Aprilstar - For those of us with pedometers, can we use that for counting walking/running? 1. When running or walking, report actual steps or converted miles. (1 mile = 2000 steps)

  • ljdanny, I'm sorry to hear that about your mother. My mother also battled terminal cancer and I know how hard it is to watch that happen. I hope you guys can find some lovely moments together even under such terrible circumstances. <3
  • Hi Ladies! Katie, that is wonderful news about your sister's recovery. I hope it continues to go well. I did my 5k walk this week and I treated myself with a lovely sugar scrub. I gained a little weight so I'm sorry for letting you guys down but I'm not letting it phase me much. Please let me know your weights before 5pm…
  • Re: the walking, I'm not sure. Aprilstar said get out there and move, so I did but only 1 mile of it was intentional "I am moving now" as opposed to just walking further in the parking lot etc. I'll send her a message and find out. For totals, we need to multiply miles by 10 then add in the pushups and squats. I haven't…
  • ljdanny, do you weigh daily or weekly? I find my weight fluctuates as much as three lbs in a given week so if you're weighing weekly you could be weighing on an "up" day. Women are more prone to these fluctuations daily and of course monthly. :) I weighed in today at 158.2 but just two days ago I was at 161.8.... I just…
  • You're killing it gtdattitude! I finally beat the overhead press!!!!! I did the full 5 sets of 5 reps with the 45 lb bar! I am THRILLED! Of course, my reward for doing that is adding 5 lbs to the bar... sigh. This week on my three lift days, I squatted 45 lbs 10 times, (warm up sets) 65 lbs 25 times, 70 lbs 25 times and 75…
  • Tilapia is a great intro fish - some lemon pepper seasoning and then under the broiler for a few minutes and it becomes flaky and delish! Squirt of lemon juice and you are on! I also LOVE tuna steaks. Salt and pepper both sides of the steak, sear in a hot pan (I use my cast iron), let sit on each side as you watch the…
  • Yay! Hi ladies! Like I said in the other thread which I wish I could delete... I am firmly in my weight lifting routine now which is awesome. I lift Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last night I squatted 65 lbs, benched and barbell rowed 55 lbs. That's my "easy" day. Thursday I have to do the dreaded overhead press which…
  • I bought http://www.d*ckssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10793623 this (change the asterisk to an i) locally when it was on sale for just under $180. I had been checking craigslist for a while and nothing was coming up for both a good price and not massively far away. I only started the program on the 5th but…
  • Don't you love the fitbit!?? It really helped me so much with both adjusting calorie goals and motivating me to walk a few more steps. The couple of times I have forgotten it when leaving the house (literally twice in 6months) I was so annoyed every time I took a step I was like "BUT THIS DOESN'T COUNT! hahah. And I am…
  • Well Ladies, I have no idea what is going on with the challenge but that's okay. I started lifting weights this week - I'm doing Stronglifts 5x5 in my living room with the power rack I built over xmas break. So far I've only done two workouts but it is really fun and hard! My legs wanted to fall off and die on Monday. :) I…
  • Team Yellow has been operating under the assumption that we should be weighing in based on what Soccarella said in the first post but if those weights don't matter, that's fine too. :) If you check the main spreadsheet, nothing has been added or updated since the break. New episode tonight though!
  • Hey guys! Tomorrow is my last day off from work but I've been enjoying my little bit of time off and eating and drinking like crazy. I didn't lose anything this week (up a little, but that's nothing to worry about) but I enjoyed the heck out of it! I'm actually looking forward to getting back to my usual eating routine…
  • Oh! And please don't forget to either PM me your weight or log in to the yellow team spreadsheet and add your weight and challenge info. It is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AupZ8kDMiwo-dHB4cWcyemNMb2VXLXNDb3QzTGltSGc&usp=sharing
  • So I tried the endurance challenge today - woah was it rough. I am a complete weakling when it comes to holding weight for any length of time though. I managed to wall sit for 60 seconds but the last 15 I was thinking "hold out for 60, hold out for 60, you can do one full minute you wuss!" hahah. I also managed to plank…
  • That's such a great attitude and something that keeps me going too. A little bit every week is better than nothing at all! I've been keeping you in my thoughts and I hope that you're getting through these tough days alright. <3
  • Congratulations to all the biggest losers! I'm going to have to beg to differ on the Crohn's question. I found this interesting study abstract http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10620-010-1541-6 which seems to indicate that both low BMI and high BMI could be risk factors for Crohn's. I guess they're still trying to…
  • Yellow team's answers: 1. B 2. C 3. F 4. A 5. C 6. E 7. B 8. C 9. A 10. D (35.7)
  • gtdattitude, I can't express how sorry I am for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your loved ones. Nothing anyone can say or do can ease your grief and I would recommend not beating yourself up for not paying attention to your diet. You have bigger things to deal with right now and being with your family and friends…
  • And SkinnyNSweet, I agree with you on question 9.
  • Oh no! :( I was wondering why it was so quiet around here. I'm happy to be "coach" in terms of gathering info and sending reminders but I'm not super great at motivating people.
  • Question 8: C, 25-30 lbs It is recommended to lose 10% of your weight if you are overweight or obese to see health changes.
  • Question 4: A, 1 point drop. http://healthyliving.msn.com/weight-loss/10-surprising-obesity-facts?pagebr=2#2 Oh, I may have accidentally found where some more of these questions are from: Question 5: C, Vitamin D. http://healthyliving.msn.com/weight-loss/10-surprising-obesity-facts?pagebr=2#3 Question 6: E, all of the…
  • It's gotta be f - http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10620-010-1541-6
  • G. All of the above. Next question: Which of the following has the most grams of protein per ounce? A) Steak B) Pork C) Chicken D) Tuna E) Turkey
  • Hey everyone! It's been a super busy week for me and based on the quiet around here, for all of you as well. :) For my challenge this week I went out to a concert and danced my butt off for about an hour and a half. I'm still sore in my abs and legs but it was worth it.
