Eat carbs....They are your bodies direct source of energy! Thats why I try to eat cereal in the morning, then a 10am snack and a workout at lunch. You can get it at some clinics and hospitals, or gyms, but I go to a local college because it costs $20. They usually provide it cheaper because its practice for the students! If you have a college nearby, look for their heath or performance lab!

Welcome noseovertail! I would suggest that you get a bodyfat percentage test done to determine your exact BMI. This way you can ensure you are lolsing a healthy amount of weight! Once you have that number in hand, you can get grips on what weight is healthy for you and set it as a goal! Good luck!

Bring a lot of healthy snacks that are high in protein(if possible). Skiing is very exhausting, even for those of us who've skiid all our lives. It might be depression... You should ask the doc when your at your next visit and they can diagnose it, or reject it! In my opinion I always feel better after working out and knowing I'm losing fat, so it couldnt hurt!

You could simply do it mathematically... If a 2000 calorie diet lets you have 2500mg of sodium and you are eating 1300 calories, then... 2400 mg Sodium/2000 calories * 1300 calories = 1560mg of Sodium

When you can't get any nutritional info, I find it best to focus on portion sizes. When I ate Chinese last, I avoided unneccesary carbs(RICE) and just ate my dish (Shrimp with Hot Garlic Sauce). That might be annoying, but who cares... I would have told her that if she can workout on the elliptical and talk on the phone for a lengthy period of time, then she's obviously not working hard enough and perhaps she should leave so someone who wants to work hard can have her spot!

I guess my question is more oriented towards what burns the most fat? Should I drink the shake to increase metabolism, or have an empty stomach to encourag fat burning while I sleep?

My calorie level is not usually a concern. I eat 6 meals a day at about 400 calories a meal... I burn around 1000 calories a day with excercise. I'm eating back those calories and i'm usually left over with about 200 calories a day to waste (I usually don't!)

In the morning Im usually not very hungry and all I have is a bowl of cereal with skim milk....Do you still think I should have the shake even without the worry of overeating at breakfast?
