I have been reading some of the ideas from books by Judith Beck. I plan 150-200 calories for some sort of treat-sweets, cookie, pop, wine or whatever floats my boat. It is part of my logging. If I see something that is leftover or not on my plan, then I do not eat it. I am strengthening my "resistance muscle". I write…

Thank you for such a great post. I love the story about riding the elephant. I tend to think of my binge monster as a sleeping dragon that rears its ugly head when I do any of kind of deprivation dieting ie. no bread or no sugar.

Thank you for your story. I needed that inspiration today.

Great ideas! I just purchased the Zumba Exhilarate program. It makes a big difference when you can fit your exercise time to your schedule rather than the scheduled gym classes. I think I will ask for Turbo Fire for Christmas.

My list includes kale, quinoa, oatmeal and green tea.

I would love to hear more success stories. I had early stage breast cancer so HRT is not an option for me.

Thanks again for all the comments. I must agree that I never have problems with pasta, potatoes or rice. It is just the bread that brings out the binge monster in me even if it super high fibre.

Thank you so much for all your input. I just enjoyed my favourite bagel but it is almost like a "floodgate" opens and then I want to eat every carby thing in sight.

There is just so much confusing information out there. I guess I am just really tired of depriving myself of foods that I have grown up with and rather enjoy. I read somewhere that there is no such things as bad foods just bad portions.

Thanks editorgrrl. I am just wondering if I need to be at 1200 calories just to make things start moving. It kind of "freaks" me out to go really low-cal.

I just joined your group so I am happy to join the challenge. I find the summer months to be the hardest with unstructured days. :ohwell:

I love the taste of diet pop but it is a big nay for me. It gives me terrible itchy bumps on my arms. It has taken 6 months for those bumps to disappear.

Hi! I am mom to a lovely 17 year old daughter and a 15 year old son with autism and severe behavioral challenges. We were fortunate to get an early diagnosis for Jacob at 19 months. I live in a wonderful city with extensive services. We had to move Jacob to a special residence when he was 10. It broke my heart but we see…
