  • I just got one and love it so far. I got it to make healthy foods more kid-approved, especially veggies. We have done salmon filets, roasted chili chickpeas, butternut squash, sweet potato fries, kale chips, and brussels sprouts. Much faster than the oven and better texture.
  • Milk is actually not the best source of calcium from a quality perspective. A great deal of research has shown that it actually depletes bones at high levels. Green veggies, almonds, black strap mollasses and some beans are good sources. Here is a good article.…
  • On the advice of my nutritionist, I do Omega 3 Fish Oil (Whole Foods brand - quality very important), Vitamin C, and Magnesium. She actually recommended Calcium/Magnesium, but I recently read that Calcium supplements do more harm than good so I went to straight Mag. I have always been a clean and healthy eater, so it was…
  • Ninja! Ninja! Ninja! I burned out the Kitchenaid one in a month. Nina is running strong with 2 to 3 uses per day after 3 months. Love that thing.
  • Wow! You look like a completely different person and so much younger! GREAT job!
  • If you do dairy, greek yogurt and cottage cheese can help. Also, I'd be sure that the carbs you're eating are good quality and contain protein (quinoa, whole wheat, etc). Here is a good explanation graphics. http://online-nutrition-degrees.com/good-carbs-vs-bad-carbs-infographic/…

  • Congrats! It's amazing what can happen once you get past the first weeks! Great job.
  • Yes, it's enormously confusing, conflicting and confounding and even the so called experts can't agree. If you really want to sort it out, I recommend reading Good Calorie Bad Calorie. He does a pretty extensive review of all of the research over the last century. My logic is to eat as close to the earth as possible, avoid…
  • Yes, I'm doing about 20 to 40 minutes of cardio, 6 times per week (elliptical or treadmill) and strength training 4 times per week.
  • I'm in the exact same boat - lost 11 pounds over about 6 weeks, then nothing the past 4 weeks. I'm thinking plateau, but I'm not sure. I'm definitely curious to see if anyone has any perspective.
  • Everyone's is different. The range is just the average. When I first got my HR monitor, I thought the same thing. However, I had metabolic testing done to give me my specific zones and they are much higher than the typical range for my age. What was it for your run at what speed?
  • Almonds! Love those little suckers
  • Those are fabulous! Thank you. Quinoa rocks! Every Sunday night, I cook quinoa for the week to add to different meals. My favorite easy meal this week has been some chopped up chicken breasts, basil pesto and quinoa. Yummy. Next week, I'm trying one of your recipes.
  • Oh, I am there, too. My coworker just sent the email that the cookies are in and I don't think I can go get them without eating both boxes. I'm just not going to pick them up and see if they magically disappear. I do great as long as there isn't temptation right in front of me.
  • I bet that feels great! What a sweet goal to have. :)
  • Are you drinking enough water? I've found my skin and hair are LESS dry now that I'm eating better and drinking 10 glasses of water per day.
  • Wow! You look great! I love seeing these Success Stories. It keeps me out of the cookies every time. :)

  • I just recently took a kettle ball class and the instructor said it was like 250 calorie for 20 minutes. I put it under circuit training.
