I so understand about gaining weight due to stress! It's a lot easier to put on than it is to take off. I put on 45 lbs due to stress (18 lbs down from that and am still going.). Request sent.

You mentioned hard running. Have you tried HIIT? (High Intensity Interval Training) instead. It may just help.
