  • 1 a day mens chewables have worked for me. I take 2 in the morning, eat healthy, and work out. The pounds have been coming off steadily. I attributed it to the ones that look like a bunch of grapes not the ones that look like raspberries.
  • GREAT POST!!! It was very eye opening when I started weighing my food. I mostly eyeball it now and don't weigh things with other measurements like cups / TBSP but I have learned where my balance it for accounting for these incidental overages and I usually end every day about 200 calories under my goal based on estimates…
  • What a timely thread... I just had a closet clean out weekend and a clothing binge. After continual harping from my wife on how sloppy I looked and after standing at my drill press putting a 4th new hole in my belt to make it smaller I realized how ridiculous I was being in holding on to my old clothes. Everything 2XL has…
  • My plan is to not avoid the binging at all. I look forward to it and will embrace it fully. 1 horribly self destructive day in November and December wont have much of a long term impact and I am good the rest of the time and deserve a holiday treat. 3rds covered in gravy here I come!!!
  • Dont stress about leaving some calories on the table. MFP does calculate the defect for you so it expects you to eat some of your calories back but don't force yourself to eat if you are not hungry. MFP puts me around 1500 calories with my defect and I work out about 500 calories a day but I only eat 1800 total on avg…
  • It is vacation... go crazy. Spent 4 days in vegas recently and ate horrible (buffets, fried everything) and drank enough to make anyone very happy. Came back +5-6 lbs. 1/2 was water weight from the saltiness of restaurant food and went away in a day or two the other 2-3 pounds took about a week and a half to come off once…
  • MFP will adjust your caloric targetl with every 10 pounds of weight loss.
  • Peanut butter Bananas Peanut butter Fuji Apples Peanut butter Red grapes Peanut butter mixed nuts (1/4 cup) Peanut butter Skinny cow 120 calorie snacks Peanut butter Did I mention Peanut butter
  • When I go a little overboard on eating out the bloat is usually from the ungodly amount of sodium in restaurant / fast food. The best solution I have come up with is drinking TONS or water and sweating it out. 2 hard cardio sessions the next day works wonders for me.
  • As long as it fits in your calorie limit drink up. On Fridays my dinner usually consist of a lean protein and 2 vodka cranberry as my side dishes. It is empty calories so you have to eat nutritiously most of the time but the occasional libation will not hurt you.
  • This would do it for me. Any time you cut something completely out you are asking for trouble. It will result in emotional imbalance or a binge for that thing. For the past x years you were used to eating something and for many if not all of us there is an emotional attachment between food and our mood. Make sure your…
  • Coffee is great, it is all the crap you put into it that kills you. I now use 1 splenda and a splash of 1% and it gets me through the morning.
  • I am the husband in your original post (not yours obviously, but that was me 6 months ago minus the call the cops on you thing). I do most of the cooking in my house and I hated eating healthy. My ideal dinner was hot dogs and chips with no vegetables or something along those lines. My wife always wanted to go out walking…
  • My advice is go for a nice long run the night before BINGE LIKE HELL go for a nice long run the night after you will be fine. A 1 day party will not change anything in the long run.
  • BOO!! your post is horrible. It does not address my extremely specific medical issue. Please stop writing posts that only account for the vast majority of the people in the world!
  • Carbs are not the problem. Carbon is. As long as you don't eat any food that contains carbon I guarantee you will lose weight!
  • Damn... I thought this post was going to be about eating pasta while riding a bike. I guess I will just have to stick to running a caloric deficit to lose weight.
  • If I am sick MFP and calorie counting goes on hold until I am better. My immediate health is more important than dropping a few pounds so I do what I need to to get better.
  • 1) Diet, Exercise, Sleep, Mental satisfaction (If you make yourself miserable meeting the first 3 it is not mentally healthy and unsustainable) 2. I do not believe any food is addictive. I believe people can have an addictive personality and be mentally (but not actually physiologically) addicted to a food. For the most…
  • ^^ This. Even if you were to get a definitive answer this week next week there will be a new study that says the opposite. If you are meeting your calorie goals and don't have a specific dietary need to track sugar intake dont worry about it.
  • You have to look inside and find 2 voices that must be with you all of the time. The first voice is the one that reminds you why you are doing this and the second voice is the one that gives you a kick in the *kitten* when you need it. For me my logical voice tells me my wife and family deserve a better me and maybe most…
  • I learned a long time ago that it is impossible to make enough rules to eliminate people that want to take advantage of the system. I would make a lose weight and keep it off type of program . Someone may be able to shed pounds quickly for a easy win but there is no way you can eat 500 calories a day for months at a time…
  • My wife started to notice around 15 pounds. No one else has noticed or at least they have not said anything. I think part of it is our spouse sees our naked body so small differences are easier to spot. At work / school you are hidden under your clothes which after some weight loss are looking baggy so it is extra hard to…
  • Fudgesicle - 40 Calories Nature Valley - Trail Mix Chewy Granola Bar - Dark Chocolate & Nut - 140 calories But my all time best find is the skinny cow line http://www.skinnycow.com/ tons of candy bars and snacks around 100 calories
  • Like many have said there is no way for anyone to give you the key to willpower. It must come from inside you. At some point in time you will get fed up enough with your current situation to want to change bad enough to overcome your roadblocks. That is where willpower comes from. Here is what worked for me once I made the…
  • Thank god there are no White Castles in the south or I would be on My Fatty Pal. I could mow down on a whole crave case in one sitting. When I go back home to Detroit the castle of white is my first stop after leaving the airport.
  • Since you can't control the people around you (beyond finding new people) I think you should reevaluate your answer to the question. By saying "I don't want to" you are opening up way to many questions for people: Is she a party pooper, a recovering alcoholic, etc... I would give a reason (though you shouldn't have to).…
  • How long have you been on your new eating / exercise routine? When I first started I had the same thing happen to me but after about a month I returned to my normal frequency albeit on a different schedule than before. YAY POOP TALK!!!     <-- sorry I could not resist!
  • It is a handicapping system for people who are not in the running elite. If you are able to finish in the top 1-5/10 places then yes you are racing against the other people in the race to win. Most of us are not in that category so when I finish in 357th place gauging my progress against others it irrelevant so you need…
