Recommend a new fitness tracker
Sadly my ancient Fitbit Flex only holds a charge for about a day now and I am looking for a replacement. I absolutely DO NOT want something with a screen and only need basic steps, calories, sleep tracking with integration to MFP. I am looking at the Flex2 as an option as well as the misfit ray. I love its form factor but…

MFP and Fitbit Offset
Sorry for the redundant question as I have seen several fitbit calorie adjustment threads, but I just can’t wrap my head around what is happening. I am set up in MFP as sedentary with a goal of 2 lbs per week of weight loss. This gives me a net calorie goal of 1790 for the day. Fitbit shows I burned 3281 and has a…

Shockingly bad foods
I went to Disney this weekend and after a day of walking around the kids wanted pizza for dinner. Having 2 boys we eat Pizza once a week so I know a slice of pepperoni pizza is in the 300 calorie range depending on what large corporate delivery place we order from and I always work it into my calorie count. There was an…

Body fat % and weight loss linear
Is body fat % and weight loss linear? I started tracking by body fat % after I started tracking my weight loss. If I map our all of the BF% and Weight loss data points can I back calculate what my body fat % was when I started or is not not linear and I would need a sliding scale type calculation.

If you knew then what you knew now.
I am almost at 50% of my goal and I started thinking if I only knew when I started what I know now how much better off I would be. For the benefit of people that are just starting out or for those of us who are still working through their weight loss program what things do you know now that you wish you did when you…

Vacation – the overrated evil
I just got back from 4 days of vacation plus 2 days of business travel. My clothes still fit and my bed did not buckle when I laid down last night. When I was gone I did not log any calories. I ate pizza in my hotel room, I ordered fried food and pasta at restaurants, and I even drank a soda or two. I did not get too crazy…

Any benefits to multiple daily workouts?
Every morning I walk the dog and every day at lunch I hit the gym and do 30-40 min of cardio. This gives me plenty of calories to eat back throughout the day and I eat most but not all of them back and am losing weight at 1.5-2 lbs per week.. Since I am already needing to eat back calories is there any benefit to also…

Sad about lunch and the gym / FLIP-FLOP
My how things change in 6 week. In the beginning I hated the fact that I had to stop eating junk at lunch and start eating my turkey sandwich on low calorie bread with an evil fruit or veggies. To make my life even worse I had to drag myself to the gym and exercise. Life was horrible. Fast forward to today. I had a lunch…

Surprisingly good sweet tooth snacks
As I drove by the ice cream shop this weekend I was lamenting the fact that it is now off limits  but when I was grocery shopping I found that fudgesicles are only 40 calories and taste damn good. What other great snacks are out there that I don't know / forgot about? And don't give me stuff like fruit or nuts, yes I…

How important is WHEN you eat calories
I find myself with a ton of calories to eat at the end of the day to make my goal so I usually have a heavy dinner. I generally don't eat anything after 7:00 but is having such a heavy calorie load in the second half of the day a problem? Typical day: 1870 calorie goal Short jog with dog -50 calories Breakfast 250 calories…

When / how to reset goal calories
I asked this in the tech support section but did not get any hits. Lets say my settings are at losing 1.5 lbs per week and that gives me a daily caloric goal of 1870. As I lose weight and update my current weight in MFP and by keeping the 1.5 lb loss constant shouldn't my daily caloric goal go down? Does this only happen…

I think I finally understand BMR and Net Calories but…
After digging through way to many posts on the subject I think I finally understand BMR and net calories but I have a question for clarification. I am 6’5” 228# M age 35 so my BMR is 2226.34 x 1.2 = 2671. So that means if I sit on my butt all day and do nothing and eat 2671 calories I will maintain my current weight as my…
