When I get that way I do one of a few things, because it is usually just a urge to be chewing, not necessarily eating. I either chew gum or eat ice. If that doesn't work I at least go for something low cal like cantaloupe, strawberries, low fat yogurt. I don't even keep the stuff in my house that I'm not supposed to be…

Its hard to help or give suggestions when your food and exercise diaries are not able to be viewed.

For the exercises I can't find in MFP's exercise database I go to this website and get the information and then create a new exercise in my exercise diary. One you do that it will be there for you to access in the future. http://www.fitclick.com/calories_burned I am in no way endorsing the website, just using one of their…

I use very minimal oil. When cooking something in a pan (I don't like to call it 'frying'-it reminds me of crisco:smile: ) I use olive oil non-stick cooking spray. If I do need to use oil in something I use virgin olive oil or coconut oil...like a tablespoon at a time, very sparingly. I have a tendency to have high…

It's amazing!! I have baked 2 spaghetti squash this week!! I don't care if I never eat pasta again.

That is so awesome! I just showed your before and after pictures to my son. He is 15 and he has started changing his eating habits with me. He started out at 309 and he is down to 290. I think that gives him hope. Thanks for sharing with us! You are definitely an inspiration!

I looked at your food diary and see that even though you are staying under the recommended calories you are eating a ton of carbs. That makes your blood sugar spike and when your blood sugar is too high it is harder to burn fat. You are still eating candy, cake, frosting, pizza and other high sugar and carbohydrate foods…

My personal experience: I was eating 1200 calories a day. I was exercising and burning about 400-500 a day. I was not eating my exercise calories. I was only netting 700-800 calories a day. I started off good. I lost 6 pounds right away. However, after a few weeks my weight loss came to a sudden halt. I also started…

I did it Sunday for the first time. I loved it!! There are a couple of things I like...one, if you get too winded or something you can hit pause!! Two, there is a tutorial that takes you through all of the steps....slow and at your pace. It was so fun! Me, my sister, and my 8 year old nephew were doing it. We had a blast!…

I use pitas or flour tortillas for my crust (browned in the oven, brushed with a little olive oil and italian seasoning), add sauce, lots of veggies and low fat mozzarella cheese. One pizza is around 200 calories.

I tried it and it made my heart beat super fast, gave me high blood pressure and insomnia. No, it didn't work for me.

I went to SP once to try to find the nutritional information for something I couldn't find on here. I found it to be so confusing. The way I look at it is this.....I am making changes to my life right now in the way I eat, drink, exercise, sleep, etc. That in itself is difficult. I don't want to be all frustrated and…

I would seek a second opinion. I saw my doctor and a registered dietician that works with the hospital where I live. They both recommended not going under 1200. Even with 1200 with my exercise I wasn't losing. I upped mine to 1400 and I am losing again. If you eat only 800 calories a day and your body gets used to that, as…

Do you honestly think someone is going to have the time or patience to go to all those links? Could you not summarize their contents. This left me confused. :noway: I don't understand what it is you are trying to say.

Print out your food diary from previous days that you did good and stayed within your goal numbers. Follow what you ate on previous days as much as you can. If you print out a week or so of previous food diary days, at least you will have some reference as to the nutritional values in the foods you choose. I wish you luck.…

Keep in mind the database entries are from other MPF members. There are tons of inaccurate entries. You can go in and edit any entry you see by clicking on "nutritional information" under the name of the item when you bring it up on the database. I always make sure I am selecting items that have multiple confirmations.…

That is why they call this "social networking". When I ask people questions on here it is usually because I am wanting general info from other people going through similar situations as myself. I don't ever take the information I get here as the Bible truth...I still use "scientific sources" when needed, however...there is…

I don't think there is a way to get rid of it without surgery. Nothing has seemed to work for me. I always try to make light of it and I tell every one I was made a quitting time on a Friday....God accidentally gave me two butts....one in the back and one in the front!!

Use the recipe option under the food tab. I made the mistake of adding up all the ingredients I used to make chili the first time I tried to record something homemade. I probably spent an hour adding and dividing to figure out all the calories, carbs, protein, etc. The recipe option is a great tool. I hope it works for…

Turkey cutlets Frozen no sugar added berries (great snack....crunchy and like candy) Quinoa Bulgur wheat Eggs Salmon fillets Greek yogurt Organic baby greens Ezekiel bread Ken's no sodium marinades Mrs. Dash Low sodium cottage cheese

That was crazy! Luckily I have only ever had one of those...the Starbuck's Frappucinno. I couldn't imagine the calories and sugar in some of those drinks!!

If you are working out 2.5 hours a day and burning 800+ calories you aren't eating enough. That will make your body hold on to everything you eat because you go into starvation mode. You need to shoot for a net of 1200-1500 calories a day. When I was netting below that I stopped losing weight too. Be careful of the…

When I eat out and nutritional information isn't available I go online and search for the information. I look at several sources and try to average the numbers or go with figures that are consistent. You can figure out the rice by itself. Try to find the chicken and broccoli with white sauce. I hope this helps.

I love chicken chow mei fun!! Yes...it is crazy how many calories are in it!!! Very sad!! I get chicken and broccoli now. But it sure isn't the same without all the yummy noodles.

I've watched videos on it. I also have a friend on here (EmperorsDream) that practices it regularly. The only thing I don't like is that you can't really do it correctly out of a studio. I mean, how could I get my apartment up to 105 degrees. Some of the videos looked doable to me (I weigh over 200) and some look way too…

I always go with broccoli and chicken with mushrooms added. I usually get steamed dumplings too and spit the order with my husband and son. It is pretty low in calories and carbs. Stay away from anything with noodles or rice in it....

It is true that not eating enough calories can slow your weight loss. It happened to me when I wasn't eating any of my exercise calories. Try to eat 6 times a day....small meals. That keeps your blood sugar from spiking and falling. If it is one day, I wouldn't worry about it. However, if you frequently eat under your goal…

I recently found a way to make teriyaki sauce/ marinade much lower in sodium. I found a new dressing. It is Paula Deen's Peach Dressing. It only has 15 calories, 30 grams of sodium and 4 carbs for 2 tbs. I mix 3 parts dressing and 1 part teriyaki sauce to make my marinade. Teriyaki is such a dominating taste, that adding…

I use a grill pan and a little of the Mrs. Dash lemon pepper seasoning. It tastes wonderful and doesn't have any sodium. I love the way it looks with all the little grill marks across it.
