  • Best thing ever invented for a cold/sinus infection: The NetiPot!!! Cuts my cold and sinus infection duration in half and most times stops them in their tracks. Love that thing!
  • Bump for later :)
  • Me too
  • Make it about you and not them. Tell them you want to challenge yourself to lose 10lbs before Christmas but you'd like some help in getting there and would they help you out? Once they see some progress on their end, they'll be hooked.

  • My viewpoint on ankle holsters is ... they are great as a backup. I view it as I want it very easily accessible if needed. At the ankle it would take me time to have to bend over and get the gun. I have both OWB and IWB holsters. OWB = Outside Waist Band and IWB = Inside Waist Band. My IWB is very comfortable and I wear it…
  • Newbie <-- guilty as charged :). Didn't even think to look for a gun group when I joined MFP. Glad to find one :).
  • The OP admitted to cutting him off. Whether it was intentional or not, he didn't say but I was left with the impression it wasn't. And so, the guy got cut off. It happens. Deal with it and move on. It wasn't worth what happened afterwards on either side. Sounds like there were a number of opportunities for both parties to…
  • I have a CC permit but don't carry at the moment. Mainly because I haven't found a holster I like yet. I have one that allows you to carry in the small of the back or appendix style but it just doesn't seem comfortable. I'm wondering if I wouldn't like an ankle holster better. Or if I just need wear the one I have around…
  • A friend went to one of Marcus' signings and bought me a copy of his book. I've heard it's great. It's waiting on my TBR stack.
  • Hi everyone...I'm Jan. I got my concealed carry permit in 2010 but waited on buying a handgun until the range we now belong to was finished being built. Hubby is not a real gun enthusiast but I told him I was applying for CC and if there was going to be a gun in the house he needed to get a permit and learn to shoot as…
  • I'm a moderator on author Brad Thor's reader forum. The folks there are hugely pro-2nd Amendment and the more I learned from them the more interested I became in buying my own gun and learning to shoot. Hubby bought me my first handgun for Mother's Day this year :). Love that man!!
  • For me: Breakfast Elevenses Lunch Snack Dinner Snack (if I still have cals. I need to fit in). But I have to eat 5 - 6 times a day (medical issue) . Otherwise it would probably be just 4.
  • I have a Taurus PT709. It's compact, thin and fits great in my hand. Not too much of a kick either. The only downside is that I've found I'm not a fan of the long trigger pull - it's taking some getting used to. I shot a friend's Sig a while back and LOVED it. But it was too big for everyday carry. Going to look into the…
  • The books are sooo much better than the movies! Not that I didn't enjoy the movies as well, because I did. Just be prepared to scratch your head along the way...the movies stray considerably from the books. It's a shame, since the books are so good.
  • Take a good, hard look at your diary, my dear. You go days without logging your intake and when you do log in most days you fail to reach 1,000 calories. Unless and until you get serious about becoming healthy, you and those few pounds you manage to lose in between are going to become very well acquainted.
  • An appetizer :). Generally enough to tide me over/fill me up and no left overs to worry about.
  • I think partly because they think it's unattainable: Why set yourself up for failure? And partly because they believe it's fleeting: Even if I do make it, it won't last. Either one of those scenarios sets you up for a huge disappointment and damage to your self-esteem. It's easier to sit back and think it won't work than…
  • If you think eating under 1200 calories is a worthwhile goal and you ultimately strive for something closer to 700...you'd benefit from reading these three threads. Hopefully they'll open your eyes... Helloitsdan: TOPIC: In Place of a Road Map 2.0 (Revised) 7/2/12…
  • I'm 49 (and not going any further thankyouverymuch) and 2 yrs into the wonderful roller coaster that is menopause thanks to chemo treatments. But, it is what it is and we just need to make the best of it. As my husband is fond of saying when I let it get me down..."Be thankful you're here to complain. Not everyone is that…
  • And that might happen. But it shouldn't be a lot. Give it a fair chance. And to be honest, 1200 is enough. It isn't a sustainable amount long term.
  • Interesting. I've never heard of the Dukan diet. I don't follow any diet really. I just try to eat what I would normally be eating on a daily basis. I do try to make sure I get enough protein - although I really don't know what 'enough' is and maybe I'm getting more than I need and I try to limit carbs to a reasonable…
  • Right now I'm reading David Baldacci's 'The Innocent'. Really liking it. What genre do you like?
  • I'm 49 and am in chemo induced menopause. Fun stuff, huh? Yeah, not so much :). Sending a friend request.
  • He responded to an ad I had placed in the classified section of the newspaper. Went out on a date 3 days later. He proposed 9 months after that and we were married within the year. We'll celebrate 16 yrs together next week  .
  • Not long term you won't. And I beg to differ but I am not lying. Care to explain to me how I ate at this large deficit for the past 16 years yet am still overweight?
  • Three words for you: You are wrong. I've lived it for 16 years. Backstory: 16 years ago I had stomach surgery (not gastric bypass - surgery to re-create the sphincter muscle be prevent acid from splashing back into the esophagus because the one I was born with no longer worked). The way the surgery works is to wrap the top…
