About 2 lbs a week is normal. Some weeks less some weeks more. You need to also consider whether you did not loose as much this week due to a possible increase in muscle mass which is a good thing. Just keep up the good work and you will be fine!!

I think it has to be a combination of cardio and strength training. I do the following and it works really well for me. Cardio for 45 min on an interval setting usually stairmaster or arch trainer 6 days a week. I then do strength training two days on one day off then two days on again.
