  • You can add me too!! I want more friends! lol
  • Considering that obtaining a Zumba instructor certification is very, very easy, I don't think it's a good enough workout, plain and simple. With that said, my friend owns her own fitness studio and teaches Zumba among a ton of other things, and she is very very good. When hiring new Zumba instructors, she said she…
  • That link was really useful to me, thank you. I was always under the impression that I was not eating enough calories despite what MFP 'recommends'.
  • To me it looks like a few broken blood vessels. I hear that it can be quite common from people who push themselves hard when they are in the gym, lifting weights in particular. I wouldn't worry about it, they heal themselves.
  • I'm in!! Although today doesn't count because I had some rice. And cake. Delicious cake. I've been slacking too much the past few weeks and I'd really like to restart.
  • When was the last time you tried? Are you sure you can't even do one? I was surprised at the last time I tried to do pull ups, I did 12. The last time I tried before that was 2 years ago and I could only do 1 or 2. I have an advantage because I pole dance and do aerial stuff (silks etc.) which works the back muscles a ton.…
  • I had a bagel yesterday for breakfast, I was starving and it was free at my job. It was the first bagel I've had since New Year's Day. I don't hate myself for it and I'm glad I got it "out of my system".
  • 50 has been the standard pole size for years until recently where 45's and even 40's are becoming more and more popular. I would still stick with a 50, personally. That's coming from somebody with very small hands, a weak grip and who would constantly complain about how much I hate 50's! But I'm telling you, it is so much…
  • I see no reasonable health benefits to giving up meat/animal products that you couldn't get by making other small changes to your diet. If it's coming from a moral standpoint, then by all means eat what you think is/isn't right. But for me, there is no conclusive, published evidence that would support a vegan lifestyle…
  • 60%F, 35%P, 5%C. But I am almost ALWAYS over the carb limit, which is why I set it extremely low.
  • LOVE spaghetti squash!!! I usually make mine with tomato sauce and meatballs and I really feel like I never have to eat normal pasta again after having it. I've also eaten mine with just butter and salt, and that makes a great side dish. My mom growing up would make it a little sweet and put brown sugar and cinnamon on…
  • Definitely not body shaming or anything here, but Jennifer Lawrence's body doesn't really look that difficult to achieve. I'm guessing she's probably in the low to mid 20's, body-fat percentage wise. I'm going to repeat what has already been said so far and say that if you don't want to be any leaner than that, don't eat…
  • I love squats!!!! It's probably my favorite exercise to do at the gym. I started with body weight squats, then dumbbells, now i can squat 100 lbs after a few months. My legs are not only more shapely, but they are stronger and less 'jiggly' now too. I've always had more of a behind too but now it sits nicer and yes, I will…
  • I'm finding that very hard to believe, unless you consumed a pound of bacon every single day. You must have been doing something wrong.
  • You have a nice smile and ps your dog is adorable!!
  • When I say 'wasting away' her muscle, I didn't necessarily mean that she's losing any of it, I just mean that she's not putting any of it to use. My point was that even despite her lower body fat % (it's only by 2%, if the number she told me is actually correct), she is still what many folks would describe as 'skinny fat'.…
  • WOw!! It's crazy how much younger you look in the last few photos.....great job!!
  • I lift weights, and I also pole dance and do aerial arts (hoop, silks, trapeze) and my hands are always callused. I even have calluses ON my calluses. Unless it really bothers you, I wouldn't worry about them. Just embrace them and go on with your badass self.
  • There's a couple guys that I see all the time at the gym jump rope. Even the staff calls them the 'jump ropers' because every single time all they ever do is just jump rope. I wonder if there's anything more they do, because I certainly don't see them doing anything else at the gym. You know they're going hard when you can…
  • Ugh, I work with a girl who talks about this all the time now that she started going to the gym this year. She always says to me that she "thinks girls with muscles and 6 packs are gross" and that she just wants to look "toned". This is why she continues using the elliptical everyday for 45 mins and the heaviest thing she…
  • Thighs, butt, and my face. :(
  • I too once felt exactly like you did. You just have to DO IT. Research online, read books, watch videos, anything you can to learn how to do the different exercises, proper form etc. Take a quick stroll through the free weights section before you plan on using anything just so you know where everything is. I made the…
  • Nothing too crazy, I was with my trainer once and during my exercise I had to stop and laugh because there was this guy next to me that kept grunting as he was doing pull ups. I'm not one to pay attention to other people or laugh at what they are doing, but he seriously sounded like he was having either the worst or the…
  • Awwww. I think thats so cute lol
  • I know exactly what you mean.....I was at a family dinner once and while they were passing around italian bread, I was asked if I wanted any. When I said no I got looks from the entire table, as if I was some kind of weird specimen! "no bread?!? what do you mean you don't want any bread??" My mom also questions why I don't…
  • I rarely do any cardio at all. I used to do 15 mins of HIIT 3x a week but since I started Stronglifts I find that I just don't have the energy to anymore. I also should mention the fact that I absolutely HATE IT!! The only cardio I do now is in my warm up sometimes, I will do a brisk walk on the treadmill at the steepest…

  • A deficit is a deficit is a deficit, regardless if it comes from diet or exercise. By burning calories you are creating a deficit, which is the same exact thing other people do with just diet alone. I bet you could lose just as much weight from just diet if you had more willpower.
  • There is no such thing as chemical free. Everything that is made of matter in the universe besides electricity is made up of chemicals. Air, water, plants, WE are made up of chemicals. Whether or not they are 'natural' vs synthetically produced makes absolutely no difference, your body cannot tell the difference.
  • What do you think you are doing by 'burning' calories? You are increasing your calorie deficit! A deficit is created not only from the calories you eat, but the calories you burn, too...like someone else above said, where the % comes from does not matter. Also depending on how much weight you had to lose in the first…
