  • Don't listen to the haters, pole dancing can be a beautiful aerial art and very acrobatic. I challenge any fitness buff out there to try it before you knock it. Just do it for the right reasons....I don't do it for exercise, but as a form of art/dance. If you keep up with your training you will gain strength and…
  • I became unintentionally keto when I started eating a more paleo diet. I lost 20 lbs extremely easily within 3-4 months and have kept it off and then some. I was averaging at around 20g of carbs a day but could stay in ketosis at around 50g. The only reason why I stopped and started eating more carbs was because I weight…
  • I don't cut it out or deprive myself if I want something sweet. If I want a brownie, I'm going to eat the brownie! I actually have a cupcake or a small brownie most nights! Not a huge ice cream fan though. If I want to snack on a healthier alternative, I have homemade chocolate protein bars that I keep in my freezer and…
  • I try to log my breakfast in the morning, my lunch after I eat it but if I'm out and about later in the day, sometimes I'm not able to log my dinner until the next morning.
  • To the OP: I've been pole dancing for almost 3 years and train 3x a week, when I started I had no strength to speak of whatsoever. It has done incredible things for my body BUT it is like any other strength training regimen where your diet will ultimately determine weight lost. I gained 20 lbs in 2 years after I started…
  • Absolutely not.....pole dancing is about 99% upper body strength. It is like any other form of aerial acrobatics in that it requires years of training to advance in and requires strong back and shoulder muscles.
  • But what would the animals say???/
  • The problem I guess is for the past few weeks I haven't noticed any physical changes I can see in myself to determine whether or not I'm making any progress, regardless of what the number on the scale is. I feel stronger, but I'm focused more on body composition now.
  • I am having the same problem, I reached and surpassed my original goal weight, but now I want to focus on shedding the last 5-10 lbs of excess body fat and get to around 15-18%. I set my calories higher as well but I'm just not sure if I'm doing the right thing or not.
  • I actually have pretty high standards when it comes to fitness, at least for myself anyway when setting goals- but that's another discussion. Let's just say they were talking about REAL pull-ups for argument's sake, not the modified ones. I don't consider doing 14 pull-ups a basic movement and activity that an average…
  • Avocados, bacon, eggs, chicken, steak, lots of veggies.
  • Hm, I can do 5 or 6 unassisted pull-ups in a row but NO WAY can I run a mile in 8:30! Maybe 14 mins if I'm trying. I hated running for far too long to try and enjoy it now. I'm not even sure how fast I could get away if my life depended on it. I can't squat my own body weight because I hadn't been squatting for that long…
  • I was in ketosis for about 4 months and lost 20 lbs pretty easily, probably because it was hard for me to eat more than 1450 cals a day- which was a pretty big deficit considering my TDEE is 2050. Once I started lifting weights more regularly, I couldn't really get to the last rep in the last set sometimes and found that I…
  • horrible spray tan though lol
  • In no particular order: -eggs -bacon -avocados -chicken -steak -ground beef -almonds -almond butter -bananas -spinach
  • I make these, but don't include the grains. You have to eat them really fast when you take them out of the freezer or they melt!
  • edited to add another...
  • I don't do cardio or run because like another poster said, simply put- I'd rather be dead. I don't find it enjoyable in the least and it hurts my joints to run. I had asthma as a child and I can remember growing up being the chubby kid in gym class who took 15 minutes to run a mile. I am enviable of others who enjoy…
  • As far as carbs go, I was in ketosis for about 3 months before I started eating more carbs. I was averaging at about 20g carbs a day (5-10%) but could stay in ketosis at around 50g. I found that it was not sustainable for me because I lift weights and did not have enough energy to fully commit to my workouts even with…
  • My before/after is not nearly as impressive BUT I did lose 20 lbs since February by cleaning up my diet and joining a gym and lifting weights. I also have been pole dancing for 2 years but started lifting "heavy" to get stronger and burn fat as well... dont mind my stupid face lol....this is me at 123 lbs and 23% body fat.…
  • I don't think that teachers are appreciated enough, especially ones who teach high school. I was finishing a test after class one day when I was in HS and the teacher I had started crying to another teacher because the kids in my class were so mean to her and would throw stuff at her. She was also a new teacher at the time…
  • If I had taken the time to bring in a special treat for my teacher and she refused OR I saw her 'accidentally' spill it in the garbage, I would feel hurt/insulted, especially if I was a younger kid. Just say thank you for goodness sake, take a few sips and do with it as you wish in your own privacy. You don't need to give…
  • I find that when I focus on hitting close to all my macros, the calories just balance themselves out really. At the end of the day of logging, I tend to eat around the same amount of calories each day regardless (between 1500-1700) when I focus on my macros.
  • Just out of curiosity what is it about black olives that lets you eat them from a can, but not anything else?
  • IMO, a 'reset' is completely mental and no amount of eating just fruits and vegetables is going to make it any easier. A balanced diet of wholesome foods should give you all the 'cleansing' your body needs, why wait a week if you can start now?

  • In my experience the last 6 or 7 months, I started paleo with the standard very high fat/protein diet and lesser carbs. I dropped into ketosis and lost 20 lbs very easily. But since I workout 4-5x a week, I was not eating enough calories and the little carbs were affecting my workouts. 1400 cals a day and only 20g of carbs…
  • I pay no attention whatsoever to anyone else in any class. If they want to leave, I really couldn't care less. Just don't bump into me on your way out :)
