I like Agave, so I use it on occasion. I use it in my guacamole and to sweeten tea. I say, everything in moderation. There aren't many foods that I avoid completely, just artificial sweeteners. So I wouldn't go as far to say that it's good for you, but it's not bad if used in moderation.

So in!

I started 30 Day Shred March 22 and Ripped in 30 on April 23. I didn't make it all the way through the Shred 'cause I took some days off and I bought Ripped and wanted to start it early. Between that and my goal calories around 1500 (to lose a half pound a week), I've lost about 3.5 pounds since I started JM workouts.…

Oo, that sounds awesome :)

Ditto! I still enjoy beer, wine, chocolate, peanut butter, and (the VERY occasional) fried food all in moderation. If I deprived myself of my favorite things, I'd just end up binging on them later.

Welcome! I'm almost done with my first round of 30DS, but I sent you a friend request anyway :)

Lactulose is a prescription-only product (at least in the US) and is really more for chronic constipation rather that "bouts" of it. It works by pulling water out of the body and into the colon. Make sure you're drinking enough water, and I might suggest a fiber laxative rather than something as drastic as lactulose. I'm…

Are you feeling ok? If you're feeling fatigued or run down from your weight loss, you should up your calories a little (at 1200 now, you can certainly do that without worrying about gaining weight). If not, I'd say you're definitely fine until Monday. I would agree with the med hotline operator. This may just be a…

You look great, and congrats on your almost 30-pound weight loss! You should be VERY proud of yourself! (I'm not just saying that to be nice. You've worked hard and you're beautiful!) What areas do you already do strength training in? IMO, everyone should strength train their entire bodies, not just specific areas.

That's a very interesting way to do it. I tend to estimate stuff anyway and not obsess over every single calorie, so I might try this next time I go out.

Well, you're supposed to eat 3 meals a day with snacks. It keeps your metabolism going all day. Try having for breakfast toast with peanut butter and fruit or a bowl of healthy cereal or a breakfast shake. Try keeping your meals/snacks small and every 2-3 hours. Also drink tons of water! That will help you feel full…

What an awesome idea! Love it!

LOVE this idea! Thank you :)

Those look fantastic!

Make sure to have a big salad with light dressing before.

Lately, I always keep a supply of apples, string cheese, fat free vanilla Chobani, almond milk, Carnation Instant Breakfast, strawberries (now that they're in season), and something little and sweet like Hershey Kisses (I just need one to satisfy my sweet tooth). Also great things to always have around: boneless skinless…

Maybe it's just me, but working out helps my cramps if I have them.

Sent you a friend request :) (I have a wicked sweet tooth too)

Haha, when I saw the title of this thread I thought, "Oo, I wonder if it's about jazz apples." LOL. I found them maybe a month ago and have been eating them since. I LOVE them!! So sweet and juicy

You look awesome! What an inspiration :)

Swimming is a great idea!

Would a recumbent bike or elliptical be too much impact for your ankle? Or does your gym have an arm-bike (if that's even what they're called) ?

There's always tomorrow. Next time there's free food, don't LET yourself believe that you CAN'T help yourself. You have the power and the self-control.
-
That's awesome! You're doing a great job :)

No problem. I know how you feel. At 5'4" and 135, I felt "too big". Stick with the program and really push yourself - get your HR way up and sweat it out. Also, I might recommend incorporating more whole foods into your diet. Your body has to work a little bit harder to break them down, and they're just better for you. :)

Calm down. First off, you're already pretty lean and in the long run, gaining that muscle will help you slim down even more. Secondly, it's only been 2 days. When was the last time you saw something work in 2 days? There's a reason it's call the 30 Day Shred and not the 2 Day Shred. Keep doing it if you want to see results.

I pretty much agree with everyone else. Ask if they have low-sodium soy sauce, most places do.

Have you tried any workout DVDs? I'm doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred right now and I've noticed a significant decrease in my back fat/muffin top. I picked it up for about $10 on Amazon.

I find this too, that I'm insatiably hungry the day after a good workout. I try to just eat sensibly and keep working out hard.
