  • Seems to me, he is the clients Bit*h, so he should be responsible for re-racking their weights. He of all people should understand gym etiquette. The gym owner doesn't want to kick him out because that dude brings people in. I think I'd show up 5 minutes early and make sure he knows what it's like.
  • Something like these but not necessarily these exclusively. You need to figure out what works for you. I suppose they are sweet and sugary, but they have other things in them that will help replenish what you burn when you run. If you have a local running shoe store, I'm sure they would help you out. It seems kinda early…
  • Not sure how long you are out running for. My rule of thumb is if it's over 1.25-1.5 hours, then it needs fuel. Just before I run and then every 40-45 minutes you could use a gel or chews or whatever you like. If I'm racing, then before and every 30 minutes. You could tweak it to fit your needs, but I wouldn't overdo it…
  • I think I would stay away from the chest straps if it was going to monitor HR for more than just an activity. I saw that Fitbit is being sued for inaccurate HR monitoring. I don't know much of the details there, but I would investigate more if I was interested in owning one. Garmin has a Vivosmart HR and a Forerunner 235…
  • I'll second Stoshew's opinion. You aren't going to gain anything more that peace of mind. Stick with the plan, run at a conversational pace, and walk the water stops, and walk if you have to. Trail races are usually slower than road races so keep that in mind. There are plans out there that don't have you run more than 8…
  • I put in my most recent 1/2 marathon time (PR) and it was pretty darn close. I beat the marathon time by 10 seconds and I'm faster in the 5k by 20 seconds. With that said, I ran that 1/2 just a touch on the conservative side because I was nursing a slight injury.
  • I don't think that 1 meal is going to make or break anything. I probably indulge too often, but I'm maintaining and happy where I'm at. When I do, I log it the next day and I usually make up most of the extra calories a day or two after.
  • Winter running is totally do-able. Runners World has a page that tells you how to dress..runnersworld.com/what-to-wear Its just a guide not something absolute because it depends on your comfort level. I'll mostly run on the edge of the streets, or on the dirt trails in the winter. Shoes-For packed snow on the streets, I…
  • On my morning runs, I'll typically just do gels if I'm running more than 1 hour. Then I'll do 1 gel before I start, and one every 40 minutes or so after that. If I'm eating actual food, I'll do a banana with peanut butter on it, or a piece of toast with peanut butter. Much more than that doesn't work for me. So, just…
  • I always go to the local running shoe place and get properly fitted. The only time I run with wicking socks is when I'm trail running and I'm wearing knee high compression socks to avoid poison ivy. I think the shoes are more important than the socks.
  • I have the red one and there are 3 things that I like about it. 1.) The ability to send a live track of my run to someone so they can keep tabs on me (that is if I take my phone with me) 2.) That it connects to my phone via bluetooth and it uploads the run to Garmin Connect so I don't have to manually do it myself 3.) It…
  • This girl was trying to run me over with her bike and I stepped out of the way and grabbed her handlebar when she was going by. She went down fast and hard.
  • 10 Mile run yesterday, 1:31:45 (9:11 average)
  • I plan on doing so for at least 6 months or so after I hit my goal weight to make sure I form good habits. The transition from loose 2 lbs/week to maintain will feel pretty huge I imagine. Plus I'll keep 1 eye on the scale just to make sure I don't have to go thru this again. :) With that said, I can totally see that I'll…
