  • My knees starting when I was running for my workouts and so I switched to cardio workouts (some with JM) and they still hurt. I was told to start taking a supplement called Glucosimine Chondroitin (spelling?). It is for your joints and I got mine at WalMart. I take two every night and probably will forever, just like it is…
  • I went to a weight loss clinic to talk to a doctor there and she mentioned something like that. I try to stick to only one cup of coffee and only a couple of sodas each week. I heard that for every cup of caffeine you have, you need to drink twice as much water to balance it out. If you can cut it out completely, i'm sure…
  • Despite what everyone says, there is no rules that says you have to eat all - or any - of your exercise calories. I know you hear a lot that it will put your body into starvation mode, but don't believe the hype. If it works for you, go with it.
  • Mine is New Balance and I got it at Kohls online/clearance for around $30. I have always heard Polar is good - more money though. And mine is just a watch so i don't trust the calories....but I didn't want to mess with the chest strap :(

  • I think 1200 is the typical allotment for "average" dieters. I am actually at 1000 (or that's my goal) so hunger is something that goes with it. I had to get out of the mindset that just because it is lunch doesn't mean I have to eat a typical "lunch meal"....I didn't need a whole sandwich, maybe just the meat only with a…
  • Commitment! You can do it!! My best advice to you is plan ahead for everything and stick to it as if there is no other option. I cook my eggbeaters, mushrooms, and turkey bacon for the week all on Sunday night then I know that's what I have to eat every morning. Plan your snacks, meals, grocery lists, everything! It seems…
  • Mine went up then back down. You feel good about yourself, buth there are times where you are too tired. Maybe you are trying to get too much done during the day on top of working out? I hate to say this, but maybe all of the positive changes in your life make the other stuff seem less exciting than they were ......it will…
  • I ordered mine from Kohl's online. It is made by New Balance and it is gray with some pinkish purple around the face. I really like it but I am pretty sure that the calories burned reads about double what it should be so I usually stick with what MFP says. You put your fingers on the metal face to get your heart rate. I…
  • whoa!!
  • yummy bump:)
  • I asked the same thing but got no response, so hopefully someone will have some insight here. My HRM reads my calories burned pretty high, MFP is usually the lowest, and the elliptical machine reads at about the middle. I didn't know which one to trust! My HRM is just the watch (no chest strap) didn't want anything fancy…
  • Look! Only one chin again! Isn't that a great feeling?! Keep up the good work! BTW - red is a really good color on you!
  • There are two categories for exercise - cardio and strength. Look under strength. I know you can find things like "weight lifting" but they may also have something for circuit training that includes it all:)
  • Thanks Tana - I will try that stuff. If not, I am coming next door for ice packs! Kidding
  • This is sooooo me! Ever since my mother-in-law passed away last Christmas, we have been staying at my father-in-law's house on the weekends because my husband is an only child so now his dad is really lonely. They are AWFUL eaters.....out to eat for everything! And they're Mexican so it's tortillas and grease to go with…
  • almonds, organic crackers by Mary's Gone Crackers, 100 cal popcorn bags like you said, snack packs of small crunchy snacks...
  • NO! I think you can go back a day and enter stuff....I have done that before. At the top where the date is shown there is a little arrow on each end of that bar. Click the one on the right side to go back and you can go back to whatever day and make adjustments.
  • I just enter "aerobics" and go with something like that
  • try looking at www.heartratemonitorsusa.com
  • weights sitting on the couch, or crunches, maybe even some yoga style strength training moves that don't make you put weight on your cast.
  • Because of the eggs and ham and crust, I would say at least 300 calories per slice up to even 500 if it is the buttery, flaky, cheesy, and oh-so-yummy kind:love:

  • right there with ya! I also lost about 45 pounds from January to June but then it was like, "oh, I can do this...I lost 45 pounds, I can slack off and be fine." That's when my plateau started, then I went to vegas for a week where I planned to let it go completely. I gained back about 4 pounds but I had to get back…
  • Right?!?! I thought I was just sharing info....didn't mean to create such a controversy. I am not "advising" anyone because we each live, eat, and lose weight differently so we have to do what works for us. Now I know to keep things to myself....
  • first off, thatnks for actually asking for more info instead of just bashing me  I originally went to her with my sister to look into getting the Zerona Laser Lipo done and started this all. I had lost 50 lbs using MFP, eating 1200 plus exercise calories, but hit a plateau. I was interested in losing the "jiggly"…
  • when did I ever "suggest" anyone "starve".....isn't this just a place for us to share ideas or new discoveries? Thanks for your input though :/
  • YES!!!! My doctor said the same. Just this week I went to a medical weight loss center to sign up and the physician there said to go down to a 1000 calorie diet - as opposed to the 1200 the MFP gave me - and she said that no matter how much I work out, I should still only take in the 1000 calories a day....this confused me…

  • I do this all the time....so yummy even my husband couldn't tell a difference. You can also add a box of instant sugar free pudding to make it really moist. With the diet soda, the cakes are usually not as "tall" and fluffy, so don't be scared when it looks different
