An appointment with an image consultant might be enlightening -- see what someone who doesn't know you or how you used to look sees as your best assets.

I googled for personal trainers in my area then looked at their qualifications, experience and testimonials. I wanted someone who had a related educational background rather than someone whose only related training was the personal training certificate, and who had worked with people who wanted to lose weight. I made a…

Diet soda works really well with a cake mix. I made one expecting that it would be awful, and was really surprised how good it was. Also you can try substituting things out in your regular recipes -- apple sauce for oil, sugar substitutes, etc. Put the recipe in MFP so you know exactly how many calories is in the cake and…

1. Eat less. 2. Move more. 3. Be honest with yourself. 4. Don't estimate food portions: if you're not sure, weigh it. 5. Don't take anything to extremes.

I'm aiming to get back to 140, just to have a number to shoot for, but my ultimate goal is more about body composition.

I add it to omelettes and use it on Italian dishes as a condiment in place of parmesan.

It should be easier if you're lighter and fitter, but it also gets easier the more you cycle, so just go out for a short bike ride and build it up gradually. Adjusting the seat height, etc, can make a difference to how tired you get while cycling too.

I tried a diet soda and cake mix last weekend and was really surprised with the results. The cake was good, really moist, and it turned out at 155 calories a slice. I made a frosting with PB2 and sweetener, which added about 10 calories per slice.

Manchester and fairly new -- been using the app for a couple of weeks.

Yes, but I don't worry if it stays the same or is a little higher so long as it's trending in the right direction.

Count them, but add 45 calories to your daily target :)

I've found nutritional yeast flakes a good alternative source of protein. They taste a lot better than they sound, and I believe they're vegan.

It's possible your cravings are being caused by a nutrient deficiency, particularly if you have cut some types of food out of your diet for health reasons or you eat a lot of processed foods. There are several supplements on the market that claim to reduce sugar cravings. If you have a look at those to see what's in them…

It wasn't a big deal to me even as a kid. I didn't like being the centre of attention, and I don't like getting presents, so by the time I'd got to high school I'd realised it was best if I didn't tell anyone when my birthday was. By now only family members and a couple of friends have known me long enough to know when it…

In order of laziness: a protein bar or shake, all-bran with almond milk, an omelette.

Mine's open. Seems fair as I like to look at other people's for ideas.

I just tried Body Combat for the first time. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was that everyone else looked in good shape. I squished down the part of me that was tempted to feel a bit intimidated and decided to take that as a good sign and make it aspirational: if I stick with it, maybe I'll look like that…

Flavoured popcorn is a great replacement for crisps. My favourite is Propercorn Fiery Worcester Sauce & Sun-Dried Tomato at 96 cals for a pack. Boots also do some in the Shapers range. Also worth a look are the carrot and beetroot crisps in the NuMe range at Morrison's -- they're 2 for £1 and around 60-70 calories a bag.…

My favourite is Kellogg's All-Bran with almond milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Closely followed by Scottish porridge oats made with almond milk and with a handful of berries.
