I started today. Having a hard time with high fat and low protein. My protein is almost as high as my fat.

I think also - "junk food is a no" isn't absolutely necessary. Obviously we should try to eat healthier, but if you limit everything you like to eat, you won't be able to sustain this for very long. You just need to find a way to work it in to your calorie intake.

Have you used the calorie calculator here to see what they recommend for your daily intake? I did that in the beginning and then tweeked it as I went along. I have found MFP to be a great tool for tracking and motivation! I'll send you a friend invite.

Hey! I'm a Hoosier. :) Welcome to MFP.
-
Thats remarkable. Great job. You look fabulous!
-
Wow, this may be one of the most incredible before/after pictures I've seen in quite some time. Amazing job. Congratulations on working so hard towards your goals.
-
You look so much younger! Great job.
-
You're adorable in both pictures, but you can definitely see a difference in the newer picture. Great job, cutie!

This looks great. I have seen this a lot on Pinterest, but wasn't sure if it was really worth the effort. Think I'll try it this week!
-
What an awesome accomplishment! Excellent job. You are so cute by the way!
-
Of course it's possible. You just need to continue eating less than you burn. I would also suggest exercising.
-
Isn't that an excellent number? If so, maybe you are just really gaining a lot of muscle? It sounds like you are doing EVERYTHING right.

You have received great advice here. I would say that the whole weight loss process is trying to see what works best for you. Try the 1/2 lb a week calorie allotment and see how you feel, how hungry you are, if you are losing weight, etc. If it's very doable, maybe try lowering your calories a little to take you to 1 lb a…

I think that is a very realistic goal to set. Did you go into your settings to determine what your calorie intake needs to be?
-
Oh I agree - that is the greatest feeling ever! In my opinion, better than a number on the scale. Great job!
-
Congratulations! And if you can do this during the holidays, think of the success you can have the rest of the year!
-
Wow, you look beautiful. I love your comment about try harder! That's so true. Everybody can lose weight by eating less and exercising (except for the very few people who may have a medical condition - but that's not the average population of overweight people).
-
Wow, an amazing difference. Congratulations! Your family is beautiful as well.
-
Great job! Your efforts are paying off.

This is in response to the poster "Mad" above who is brand new: Oh you definitely can. Keep logging into MFP, add friends who will give you daily encouragement, and set small goals so you won't be overwhelmed. At the end of the day, eating less and moving more will make you lose weight. That simple.

This is a great thread. Awesome losses by everyone. I have lost 25 pounds and am so much happier than I was last year. My goal this coming year (and all the rest too) will be to continue to be mindful of how I treat my body and not get back into the bad routines.

You look great. I LOVE your hair.

I love Graze. Just started it last month. Rec'd my 2nd shipment last week. Delicious!
-
Wow, you look like an entirely different person! You were pretty before I thought, but you are movie star gorgeous now. And your family is adorable. :-)

I'm 5'3" and started at 147 lbs this summer. I am now down to 125 and still want to lose about 10 lbs. I had to keep myself at 1200 calories a day, work out moderately to lose about a pound a week. It is not easy when you are short and don't have that much to lose. I don't see how you can lose anything on 1300+ calories if…

Like someone else said, when you weigh pasta it should be uncooked. I enter my own recipes a lot. It's very easy. Then after you have added all the ingredients, make sure you put the number of servings too. Good luck!

I don't know the answer to that, but have thought about it as well. I know, in the past, when I have done Weight Watchers it seemed to be based on weekly numbers (since you were given weekly "cheat" allowances to use).

I have been stuck before and I know how frustrating it can be. Recently I moved from measuring all of my food to actually weighing it to be more precise. Also, when I am stuck, I just start exercising more. There is no way that your body can be stuck at a weight forever - you just need to adjust what you are doing. I also…

You're being too hard on yourself. What you experienced last night is reality and life. You will not be able to exclude these type of "events" from your life forever. They happen and you move on to the next day. It's when they happen all the time that there's a problem. Good luck!

I chew gum. If there is something I really really want, I will have one of them. But otherwise chew gum (then you have to make the effort to take it out, find a trash can, go back to the treat, etc.). And drink lots of water.
