Yesterday I had 2300 calories when i supposee to have 1500/day

My Goal weight is 140.. I'm 5'5

If it's all about calories in vs calories out. I should be able to eat cookies, candy and chips instead of fruits and veggies all I want as long as I don't go over my 1500 cal goal? Why are we told what to eat and what not to eat in order to lose weight?

Idk.. My friends are doing it :( is it true that if I'm not eating carbs, my body will be forced to burn fat?!?!

I was very strict on fast days.. I know I didn't eat over the 500. On the other days however, I would eat out a lot so I couldn't measure what I eat is guesstimate... I figure as long as I eat reasonably on those days ( I never binged) it would work because the next day would be a fast day

It's actually a twist on the 5:2 diet.. Eat 500 cals on fast days and maintenance the other days..
-
Yes I figured I'd add an extra fast day for even better results

THIS! Exactly what I meant!

I would eat about 2000which would still give me a deficit of over 5000 calories plus I was working out. I should have at least lost a pound a week

I get this! I don't count the calories I burn as "free calories" to eat more. If my goal is 1400/day I still eat 1400/day no matter what I've burned at the gym. I don't even either exercise in MFP because it automatically increased allowed calories

Ok..So I should focus more on maintaining muscle than building right now. Which means I still need to lift weights!?

So, If it's all about calories and not where it comes from, why is there so much focus on eating clean and staying away from "junk" food?
