  • These are all terrific ideas, thanks so much!!.:)
  • I understand how you feel. I typically eat about 300 calories less than my goal of 1200 calories and people tell me I need to eat more but I'm not hungry. I look at it as if I log something and can't find the exact brand (example: I sometimes get chicken sandwiches from a local store and I have no idea what brand they use…
  • This is SO awesome! Thank you soo much!
  • Well I know that I have definitely measured everything out correctly and if I don't have any way of weighing, I just high ball it. (Ex. I may eat a grilled chicken strip and I can't find that in mfp so I will just say "5oz of chicken" even though I know that's too high I would rather be safe than sorry) and I have…
  • You're exactly right! I had no clue what the eat less than you burn thing meant. I assumed it meant that if you want to lose weight you're gonna have to exercise to burn the calories you eat that day. Especially because I have a desk job where I sit all day long. So I assumed my body only naturally burns maybe a couple…
  • See, I was wondering the same thing! I use the Strava App and I'm walking on trails at my park. When taking into consideration the "feet climbed" that increases my calorie burning. I really think I just need to get a heart rate monitor to be completely sure of my exercises.
  • Thank you everyone!! This has been the most helpful post yet! :)
  • Well the thing is, is that I was taking in about 1000 calories every day and burning about 1200 but the weight wouldn't cone off. And everyone said I was starving myself?
  • Thank you soooo much!!
  • Thank you. This really helps. I got to reading today about all this stuff about BMR and TDEEs and all Therese equations and math and I just felt like I was on the wrong path! But thank you for taking the time to ease my mind! Lol
  • all I know is that I log every single bite of what I eat and when track my jogging with the Strava app and it says I'm burning 1000+ calories. I truly don't know what I'm doing wrong.
  • That's true. Never thought about it that way. Thank you. :)
  • Thank you so much!! You are exactly right. Thank you!!
  • okay, im definitely getting somewhere. I calculated my tdee and BMR. My BMR = 1571 and my TDEE = 2298. So if I only eat 1200 calories a day I will lose weight. HOWEVER, If I exercise and burn 500 calories then I should eat 500 calories to make up for that. Bottom line my net calories at the end of the day should be at…
  • That's what I'm so unsure of because I have literally logged every single thing I eat or drink (besides water, I forget to log all my water). I track my work outs using the Ostrava app. Sometimes I will OVER log some things just in case. (Example sometimes I use plain yogurt in recipes and it doesnt give me the option of…
  • I have been completely honest about everything in my log. I did not log on my one chest day but I did however make note that I hardly logged anything that day. Its not that I'm taking it as a personal attack but its how several people come across that angers me. If you can't understand that then I don't know what else to…
  • Well I have only had one cheat day over the course of my dieting. Would one day of bad eating really throw off the 14 days that I have been dieting and exercising?
  • Okay, bare with me, but how did you come up with those numbers again?
  • Thank you! This is both helpful and confusing. Lol. I have never heard of any of the things you're talking about so its kind of hard for me to wrap my mind around it. Lol Do you happen to have any links?
  • Thank you! This is really helpful!
  • I am 5'2". I weigh 190 lbs. And I have been trying to walk 6 miles 5 days a week.
  • I have genuinely learned something from every person that took the time to considerately give me advice. However I also learned that people can be very hateful when hiding behind the keys of a computer. Because let's say I did have an eating disorder. Let's say I was really dealing with some rough **** in my life and so I…
  • Thank you. I genuinely didn't realize this.
  • Its funny to me that you're taking so much time out of your day to get butthurt because I didn't mention every single person that said something nice. Looks like you're the one that needs to suck it up.
  • Thank you so much! I honestly had no idea! I'm not trying to starve myself I just figured that if I ate 1200 calories then any exercise would be an extra boost in my diet regime. I honestly had no idea that I was starving myself!
  • Thank you for being the only person to reply with something nice and helpful. I genuinely appreciate it.
  • Thank you! This is definitely the most helpful and mature rely I have gotten. I did not realize that I need to eat back the calories I burn. I'm not lying about anything I post, I just thought that my cheat day could be one day break from logging.
  • Obviously since it was my cheat day I wasn't going to log all that. That is exactly why I made a food note to say it was my cheat day. If I was going to lie about what I post, why would I make a note that on my cheat day I ate much more than what I posted......
  • I ate 1229 calories yesterday but burned 1045 by working out. I'm not starving myself?
  • Uhm I don't understand what y'all are saying because yesterday I ate 1229 calories and burned 1045 by walking. So I AM eating . lol
