1. Pounds lost: 50 2. How long it took: 7 months 3. How many calories you were eating each day: 1800 As yet, I don't exercise because it causes lower back pain.

Before I launched my Paleo lifestyle, for a SINGLE week, I drank two shakes made with a high-quality whey protein powder and ate normal food twice per day. That daily routine stopped my food orgies. I used that week to get my pantry cleared out, and brought in the proper foods. Best Wishes!

I aim for a 12-hour fast each day, which means I take in all my calories between 8 AM and 8 PM. A longer fast (15/9) doesn't seem to affect my progress. I don't feel hungry for 5 or 6 hours,

So far, VERY good, Whitney! Congratulations!

I will be a second-time bride in early January 2015, if not sooner. In 2013, I lost 50 pounds in 6 months. I'd like to lose 50 pounds more in time for the wedding in Las Vegas, on his birthday. I, too, want to look good in the pictures, but I'm more interested in the certainty that I've chosen the right man to live with…

You've made great progress, as I can see in your profile pictures! Best wishes, and keep up the good work!

I had two mottoes at the beginning of my new lifestyle: Baby steps! Don't allow the GOOD to be overshadowed by the PERFECT. Think of this new lifestyle as a learning experience for a new skill or craft. Mistakes will be made, but improvement comes with practice. Best wishes!

:flowerforyou: It's highly motivating to see a difference in the face!:flowerforyou: I wish the rest of me showed such a dramatic improvement...

For me, logging my food intake is a learning experience. First, I'm making progress toward my goal weight because logging my intake makes me aware of how a 'normal-sized person' should considers what she eats. Maintenance will kick in about 110 pounds from now, and I want to know how to gauge portion sizes when I do.…

When I was 21, I lost about 60 pounds to a 'normal weight' of 137. I had an ulterior motive for losing weight, but the desired outcome was not forthcoming. :ohwell: I received attention from fellow classmates who wouldn't "give me the time of day" when I was chunky, and it made me angry! I thought huffily, "I am the…

That is progress!:flowerforyou: Keep up the good work!

I've lost 50 pounds. However, it is painful when I walk far outdoors . Without a cane or 'granny cart' for support, because, my lower back begins to ache. I don't do standing aerobics, because I can't change weight' on my arthritic knees without further damaging them. I receive cortisone shots in both knees. So, I began to…

Eating grains, rice, potatoes, and beans gave me the urge to stuff myself, and then I'd have to nap because my blood glucose would go 'through the roof'. Eating the Primal way (Paleo+Dairy) has helped me to lose 50 pounds without hunger or cravings. I suggest you go read around Atkins.com for how to 'ease into' the High…

Good question! Usually, recipes ask for melted coconut oil. Check the label for the number of grams/ml for a Standard Measure tablespoon-sized serving, and then weigh it on your scale. I just level off a solid tablespoonful.

When I was your age, my friends started to marry. Even my ectomorph male friends put on 20 pounds or so in their bellies. Some people, in their new lives, excuse the weight gain by saying, "I'm happy!" You were slender and happy with yourself when you left home at end of October, you say? Soooooooo....think about things:…

One adds coconut oil and/or unsalted butter to morning coffee or tea to make it "bullet-proof". The calories from the fat(s) helps one to feel 'satiety'. My diet is LowCarb/HighFat, and drinking morning beverages this way helps me achieve my Fat macro of 65% of my daily calories. For the same purpose, I also make "fat…

Logging my intake really slows down my indulgences. I suggest that you sigh heavily, and then start logging EVERYTHING you ingest on the weekend, too. Best wishes!

Speaking as a teacher, I think that the utterance of TWO "thank yous", given as he complied with your request, covered your 'courtesy debt'.

Congratulations upon taking charge of your health and fitness. :flowerforyou: I recommend that you look up all the references given in the "Getting Started" pinned postings, and you'll get lots of answers to your 'wonderings'. Best wishes!

^^^^^ This! The amount of weight you've lost is inspiring! Your grin is precious in the second photo. Work on your fitness, but do research on how to help your sagging skin rebound. One way is to eat at least one packet of unflavored gelatin (Knox, in the 32-envelope box) each day, to boost the collagen in your skin, to…

You've lost about 1/4 of your body weight from the beginning. Your body needs to make adjustments in its metabolism, fluid balances, chemical processes. You are also making milk for your baby, and that takes energy, which your body will borrow from other systems if your calorie intake isn't sufficient for your exercise…

Congratulations! :flowerforyou:

Great job on your weight loss! Congratulations! October is 6 months away, so you might have to take in the bridemaid's dress you ordered!.:drinker: Brava! :flowerforyou:

I've lost 50 pounds by giving up starchy foods to enjoy more protein and fat, butter and bacon. Add me, if you'd like.

I have a binging trait that one of my friends noticed and pointed out: when she put out a bowl of snack food, I would eat it mindlessly until the container was EMPTY! I think somewhere in my psyche, I'm being told, "The only good plate is an EMPTY plate!" I think that that's an echo of being admonished to "Clean your…
