What guy? What am I missing?

@maureenkhilde - If you have quit taking the Insulin Resistance medication, I hope you have made your Dr, and or nutritionist or dietician aware of this. - Yeah, they both know and the nutritionist highly insists that I get back on some kind of insulin medication , because that will be vital in me being able to lose weight…

@naomi8888 - Ok, so here's my questions, how do I weigh stuff accurately/calculate when I'm eating on the go? The thing I had was a protein pack, in which case it's impossible to tell, what part of the total is cheese and what part is cranberries. I mean I was able to look up what an 0z of cranberries looked like and…
-
@PAV8888 - I actually do weigh nearly everything I eat. I just don't think it's realistic to do when you're eating out or buying things to go. I don't know how other people work around this, honestly. I mean I know people who just don't go out to dinner or for drinks with their friends , because they're afraid of not being…
-
@boldknee - My condition has gotten so bad that PPI's do absolutely nothing except make me vomit and feel dizzy.

Side-topic: my son has suffered from severe reflux and swallowing issues. Are you still having swallowing issues? If you still have trouble swallowing (e.g. dysphagia) I hope they will do a swallowing study (they have you eat food with a dye and can x-ray while you swallow to see the mechanics) and potentially also hook…

@quiksylver296 - I'm not sure what you mean by "log religiously" ? If you mean, log every day, then yes, I do that. And yes, I already have a scale and already weigh my food but I'm not going to bring my scale with me when I'm out and about and need to grab something from the cafe. That's just not realistic.
-
@anniecave1 - What are the actual estimated calorie amounts you're eating each day? Saying it is over or under is in reference to a target, but we don't know if the target amount is a "reduced" amount, or a normal amount? << Height: 5'3'' , Weight: 233.6 lbs, Target Calories: 1730 , Target Weight loss: 1 lb a week.>> Sept…
-
@BarbaraHelen2013 - My goal is: 1730. I'm 5'3" and I weigh 233.6 lbs ( as of Sept. 1st) Regarding the cheese cubes- It was a snack pack from a store. It was impossible for me to tell how many calories were in each part of the snack pack. The whole thing: cheese cubes, cranberries, almonds, grapes and egg was 380 calories.…

@naomi8888 - I'm not sure what you mean by the weights? In what sense? Like do you want me to give an example of what I normally eat in the day? No. I'm not exercising. My doctor has forbidden me from doing so, due to my breathing issues. I end up coughing and choking even when I'm trying to do light cardio or even if I'm…

@wilson10102018 - A most excellent response, good sir!
-
@snowflake954 - I did but then how do I divide it evenly ? I made enough for 2 servings .
-
UPDATE: I put 4oz dry to cook, which is 2 servings. I figure I'd spill out , into a measuring cup, however much would come out to 1 cup , but when I weighed it on the scale it was 5.8 oz. I'm really confused! HEEEELLP!!!

I have it set up to be notified by e-mail when someone replied to a discussion or a question I post on the message board but for some stupid reason it refuses to send me notifications still so I only saw this just now. Yes , obviously using a scale is better but I don't have one and scales can be expensive and the last two…

Hi. I'm not sure what you mean by " put it in as .." There really isn't a group "search" option that I can see. I changed it to "belly dancer" at the end in the address bar and nothing!
-
I'm 5'3.5" and my goal weight is 115-125 lbs though realistically it should be 150 considering my family's history with obesity and being big boned.
-
I wish we had the option on here to "like" comments but I just wanted to say thank you, that is very encouraging and awesome advice!@

UPDATE: I've opened my diary!
-
Thank you, Andrea, I'll try to keep that in mind as well!
-
Thank you for the encouragement and support. I will try not freak out or be so hard on myself and keep in mind that it's not an exact science. Maybe my body just needs time to get used to the changes.

I do indeed use a scale to weigh everything unless I'm out of the house and don't bring food with me, in which case I do my best to eyeball measurements. I also use measuring cups and spoons that I purchased specifically for this purpose. I'd like to open up my diary but I'm a bit afraid to do so with people I don't know…
-
Lol. Yes, that is a typo. I meant 2lb a week!
-
Yes (FYI- Don't skinny skip in a pond. Just DON'T) Have you ever gone to an BDSM Club ?

I agree with checking thyroid levels and getting a second opinion.
-
which way have you found to be the most effective? I feel like I'm cheating myself because what if I eat till 2 in the morning and then I only have 800 cal for the next day. I know you're not supposed to eat that late, but I do.
-
1) I just don't understand how I can lose 2lbs by doing nothing one week and then actually watch my calories and exercise only to gain weight the next. 2) I'm afraid I won't be able to handle 1000 calories a day. I generally don't exercise, I was just running around a lot that week. I honestly can barely handle 1400…

oh wonderful! the picture showed up. the funny thing is, it seems to read fine on my actually log!

thank you for all your responses so far. It really makes me feel a lot better. sometimes when I do thinks like a lot of walking during the day or laundry, I feel like I'm over exerting myself and I get hungry more often, so it only stands to reason that some kind of energy/calories are being burnt up in the process.

This might be kind of going off on a tangent, but I am afraid to use oil in anything because it has so many calories. Like when you fry eggs for instance. If you're frying 2 eggs and using one tablespoon of oil that 1 tablespoon is automatically 120 cal. So what , I just ate 140+120 = 260 cal just from eggs? That hardly…
