Another great thing that helps with abs: Get a balance ball and sit on it instead of a chair. It forces your core to stay in alignment and upright. I'd sit on one at work, but I think they'd stare at me.

Hi... Steps: Depends on the day and what I'm doing. I am for about 10,000 but sometimes don't make it. I also swim several times a week and I'm finding those are the days I don't tend to hit my steps. On the other hand, I am meeting my fitness goals, so I'm less worried about the steps. Motivation: I'm tired of being fat.…

Leslie Sansone has some great one mile videos and segments with modifications for new exercisers. Love her stuff when I'm not swimming.
-
Yoyo_Fitness: I've been swimming with my Shine and it's doing great. I hope they add things like rowing eventually.

130Mommy---it doesn't count steps. It seems to count activity and assign points toward your goal.

Hi!
-
Misfit shine. Tracked my swimming and cycling without any problems. Water proof and I put it in my bra most of the time. Works well. Like it better than Fitbit, pivotal living, lifetrak, omron, and a few others.
-
Lol. It does. Found out when I was otherwise engaged.
-
Misfit Shine. I wear it in my bra.
-
I love the Misfit Shine. Doesn't track stairs or heart rate, but you can run without your phone and it does pick that up automatically. With an adjustment on your phone prior to exercise, it'll do swimming, yoga, and a few others. They're working on more algorithms. Once the adjustment is made on the phone, you don't take…

I gave up on Planet Fitness and didn't join the Y here because the one thing I wanted was easy access to a pool. The Y's pool hours didn't match mine, so I checked out a local gym. Pool is open when I can get there. Otherwise, I'd probably have joined the Y. All things being equal, I liked the wider variety of equipment at…

I just wear a Bali bra. It's the Woman's Satin Tracings Minimizer Bra. Works great in the gym. No bounce. I'm a 40 G.

I take the sync thing back. Go to the app. Then hit the plus button. You'll be able to log or track exercise. Hit track. Pick exercise. Hit start. When done hit done. Then sync. Voila. Points. Worked with cycling this morning.

I have the Shine. I'm lacipeanut here and on misfit.
-
Took my Shine in the pool today. Handles soaking wet beautifully. And I wear mine to work in a hospital (I'm an NP) or an office depending on the day. No problems with equipment.

Being overweight bothers me, but not doing something about it bothers me more. Does being overweight impact my workout? Yup, but with each workout, that fat is getting a little more gone. So...I'll just keep going.

Wow. I gotta catch up. 3/3: 2.2 miles 3/4: 3.3 miles 3/5: 4.5 miles 3/6: 3.3 miles 3/7: 2.3 miles 3/8: 2.4 miles 3/9: 2.9 miles Weeetttt....I've actually met my goals every day this month!
-
You can choose an exercise like cycling in the app. Then sync., when done sync again. Then change it back to walking in the app then sync again. You'll get points for your exercise. Same with swimming.

I wear my Shine in the shower and while doing dishes. I've gotten it soaked. My understanding is that the Flash is the same way.
-
Actually, the Shine is fine in the hospital. Not magnetized enough to make much difference unless you're going into an MRI. Then you gotta take it off.
-
My goal: 100 miles this month. 3/1 did 2.5 miles. 3/2 did 3.7 miles. Both gliding on a Gazelle-like thing. Need to clear a space to do videos.
-
March 1, recovering from some bug. But I still got 2.5 miles and 7992 steps in. March 2, feeling better. 3.7 miles and 11028 steps.

Actually, if you tap on the circle where the points are, it will also give you miles, steps, etc. And yeah, amsmithatc33 mentioned the 300 points is about a mile--sounds about right. Not sure about the band for the flash, but the shine is pretty secure.

I have a Misfit Shine. I love it--syncs with MyFitness Pal. Can get wet (yes, it goes in the pool). Tracks activity and steps, so it shows you steps, calories burned, etc. But it also can be set to track cycling and swimming. I know they're working on more activities. Tracks sleep. Can be worn virtually anywhere. I usually…

I'm in.

I have a Misfit Shine (although there is also the Flash). It's waterproof (yes, you can wear it swimming). It came with a wrist and a "clip" (actually a magnet) holder, both of which are extremely comfortable. The Shine also has some other wrist and necklace options. I usually wear the clip on my bra with no loss of…

Hi, I'm Zita--I've been an RN for 8 years. I've worked in a variety of settings, currently as an NP in a geriatrics specialty practice. Just before that I worked nights as the on call hospitalist NP for a small community hospital. I've lost 100 pounds, still have about 50 - 70 to go.
