OMG, I went this summer and it was AMAZING. Seriously. It was absolutely awesome. And there were people of all ages there -- I'm 27 and I didn't feel the least bit self-conscious. If it didn't involve a nine hour / thousand dollar plane ride, I'd go again this weekend. ^.^ Don't miss it!

Looks like fun--good luck!

No clue, but dang, that sounds like fun!

That's the definition of a "life-style change" -- great job and keep it up!

I'm 5'4. I'm also jealous of all your tall person calories, lol. Honestly, my goal was a 12--and I never thought I could get there. I'm so excited to be working toward a 6 now!
-
Good luck!

Awesome thread! Thanks for the great question.

woo!

"There's no way you can stick to a diet forever, so why start in the first place?"

So jealous! There are NO warrior dashes around me at all, and I think they sound like a BLAST, running or walking. I'm going to have to do one eventually, but since I'll be completely filthy by the end, I'm not looking forward to the long, muddy ride home.... Just do what makes you comfortable and have a great time!

amazing!

lol, yeah. I've just started being able to see my ribs, too. They look pretty creepy, really.

me, too. lol

I am, in actual fact, a Dalek. ^.^

Omg, I love the name! Perfect! And a steampunk theme--ftw!

I need a team! Message me if you need another person! I'm currently training for a 10k, so I do a LOT of running.

I have no actual proof of this, but teh intranets tells me that I've lost the weight of a dryer: 50 pounds. Dang. I dunno that I believe this. But, hey, teh intranet NEVER lies.

I absolutely love running. I started in February with C25K and am now training for a 10K. I'd eventually like to run a marathon. Feel free to friend me!
-
Good luck!

I'm doing a 5k on Oct. 1st, too!

This is the perfect group for me! I want to be at my final goal by Halloween so I can wear one of those silly Leg Avenue costumes I've always been too fat to fit in before. If you'd asked me at Halloween last year if that was EVER a possibility, I would have laughed at you. But now I'm eight pounds away from my goal! So…

Argh, wish I could come! I don't think the registration fee covers the nine hour flight, though...

LOL, I JUST got done with my monthly friend-culling before I read this. I always feel bad doing it, but, for me, it needs to be done: if they don't log in for over a month, I chop them. I figure they can work on building their friends list back up when/if they come back. Now, I have one friend listed who hasn't logged on…

I've known several people who have put their weight loss up to two pounds a week, and none of them have lasted very long. They either burn out or find that they're losing about the same or less than they were when their calories were higher. Certainly give it a try if you feel like you need to--everyone's body is different…

Bump!

Oh, no! What will I use for a pillow when we watch movies?! But, no really, I'm happy for you. I know it's been a long time coming. ^.^
-
Great story! It really shows that just because you have a set back, it doesn't mean that you can't get back at it and achieve your goals.

I agree. No one wants to feel frumpy at any time, not even at the gym. Knowing you have some cute stuff to wear while you work out is certainly much nicer than knowing you're going to spend an hour not only hot sweaty and a little miserable, but also feeling particularly unattractive. Kudos on your new workout gear!

lol, thanks Munchie.

Wonderful! I just posted a topic on how I can wear shorts now, lol. It's a great feeling.
