  • In the UK we're supposed to use KG but I've always gone by lbs. But when doing weights I work with KG. Weird. When I said im on a health kick I don't mean im looking for a temporary fix, to me a health kick is realising you've got a really unhealthy lifestyle and changing it. A kick up the backside. To the person who said…
  • Sorry I'm so late replying. Thank you for the advice. The night out isn't the be all and end all, im planning on sticking to a health kick after the night out, just would have liked to feel/look a bit lighter. How many cals should I consume to lose max amount of weight in the week leading upto the night out? Its only a…
  • Dont really see the point of this comment? We could say is losing 2lbs really going to make a difference? But losing 2lbs weekly makes all the difference. Id love to lose a stone in 2 weeks but as I said, im being realistic.
  • Okay thank you. I'll keep at it, im not gonna just stop cause I'm not seeing results. How can I lose maximum amount of weight in 2 weeks? (Then after that I'll just go slow and steady cause I know fast weight loss is only a quick fix)
  • Surely that would have gone within a few days though. Thank you for the advice though, I appreciate it
  • To be honest, im not tracking foods because I'm just following the meal plan by EatThisMuch. If it says I need so many grams of something im weighing it out with scales or the jug. But not actually tracking. I used to track my food with MFP... I might just start doing that aswell. But I've swapped tracking for just…
  • But why did I go from 235 to 226 back upto 232 and now im stuck between 230 and 232. I mean it could be muscle but would I gain muscle that quickly on a calorie deficit?
  • I’m definitely going to do this now. As I said, I have done this before loads of times and it’s worked, but this year it genuinely hasn’t worked for me. And I do track everything, even cucumber.
  • I was following a diet plan on the app ‘Eat This Much’ for weeks, I didn’t trust the their numbers though so used MyFitnessPal to track everything I ate and tracked all my exercise. Still didn’t lose weight. And that is me being completely honest, I didn’t over eat, I just ate what it told me to eat.
  • Thank you for this. I would have given someone this exact same advice a couple of years ago because I know it works. I’ve been successful with MyFitnessPal so many times. But it just hasn’t worked for me this year. And that’s why my food diary looks the way it does. I will be honest though, sometimes if I overeat on a…
  • But on the days where I have tracked my food I have been completely honest and I do use a food scale. I know I’m not helping my cause with how all over the place my food diary is currently, but this is because I’ve reached a point where I’m fed up of tracking everything I eat, every calorie I burn and still not seeing…
  • I’ve set it to 1500 cals I’m starting to wonder if that’s a bit too low. I’ve tried setting the calories to 1500 for example, then if I burn like 700 cals that day I’ll eat back half of them. But at the moment I’m trying to just eat the 1500 cals and not track my exercise.
  • But I do go through phases where I do alternate day fasting. And on the days I don’t eat I just track the Protein shake, the pre workout and the creatine and the oat milk I have in my coffee.
  • No it’s not 100% accurate. Some days I just don’t log what I’m eating, but I know I’m not going over my calories. Like today for example for dinner I just had some rice and vegetable chilli. But I done a Cize workout, a country heat workout and had a little bike ride.
  • But I’d lose weight even slower then and I don’t want to. I’m trying to shed fat so I can reach around 180lbs then eat in a surplus to gain muscle. Or is that wrong?
  • Thanks so much for the advice and support I really appreciate it and it’s definitely spurred me to go on. Thank you.
  • Thank you for the advice. I think I will start tracking with MFP. I've done it before, years ago. It worked perfectly. It's just a bit of a pain.
  • In 2014 I went from 230lbs down to 179lbs over the space of a year, through healthy eating. I piled it back on from January 2015 onwards. So whether I lose it the healthy way or not, I need help for my eating problems. I just need to get this weight off fast because it's depressing me.
  • It's not that I don't care if I put the weight back on, it's a case of i'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I need to see results so it will give me the incentive to carry on. I've lost weight the healthy way and the 'wrong' way in the past time and time again. This is the longest i've had an overweight period now and…
  • Urgh it's horrible reading these comments because it makes me feel like i'm a secret eater or something, but I appreciate the honesty. It's made me feel better knowing where i'm going wrong. I normally eat A LOT better than this on previous weight loss plans. Thank you.
  • I thought that when I over eat one day I make up for it the following day either by exercising more or eating less. Thanks for pointing this out to me.
  • Maybe I am in denial then lol. Is 1500 calories too few calories for someone of my age and weight who is quite sedentary outside of doing Insanity?
  • Thank you so much for all this great advice. I forgot i'd made this thread as it was late last night when I made it. The life not being black and white comment really rimgs true because i'm bad for being like that. I either want to be a vegan or a meat eater, but maybe I could just eat fish and the odd chicken breast.…
  • I've set the weight loss to 1.5lbs now and they say I should eat around 1,650 cals a day, then on top of that i'll eat my exercise cals back. Do you think that will be okay?
  • Thank you for all the input. All great reasons... I hate the skinny fat look too, where the fat seems to hang from a small malnourished body. Ew. Do you really think 1,350 cals is too low? That's what MFP told me to consume when I said I want to lose 2lbs a week. Maybe I should change it back to 1.5 lbs a week then.
  • Sometimes burn 300 cals, sometimes. 400. But on average I burn around 500 cals.
  • Thanks for the comments, you've put my mind at rest. I'm 5ft11... I weight 197lbs (from 230lbs, and at that weight MFP told me to consume 2700 cals) and I lead a very sedentary lifestyle, long story, but i'm on week 11 of P90x3. When I workout I burn around 500 cals (using a PolarHRM) and obviously log that. So I normally…
  • MFP said I should eat 1,350 (without exercise) but today I ate 89 more calories than what I should have done and done no exercise and lay in bed all day watching tv shows. Will that make a difference to my weight? I get quite obsessive.
