I said 'only 5'6' because I shouldn't weigh 210 lbs and only be 5'6...

Thats amazing. You look great!

Amazing job. Congratulations to you!

I'm not on slimming world but have about the same to lose. Feel free to add me

You are so right! I have recently done that. I am building up my recipes, and am gob smacked at how much in the past I have underestimated what I was eating.
-
Any help is appreciated... so yes! Tell me more.

So it is my overestimation rather than the sites? So if I know from a machine i am walking say at 2% incline for 20 minutes at 5 mph, the calories given by MFP would be fairly accurate?

I'm trying to cut down on my carbs too. A friend of mine cut hers and she did it by making one meal carb free a day. So I might try that....

Ok, thanks for the info :-) I have recently started to exercise more, but I definitely lack knowledge in the nutrition/food department. Thats my focus now, as I think that lets me down. So I have dug out my weighing scales, and started weighing and logging. I think I might increase it slightly, and then see how it goes…

I Am 5'6 and 210lbs. To maintain my weight I should eat 2115 calories. The 2115 calculation includes my 'sedentary' lifestyle. I clearly don't want to maintain, so by my calculation, my 500 cal deficit is 1615 calories. As this is way over what MFP calculates I am scared to alter it from 1200 to say 1500. But it is my…

I think I might wait then, and see what I can lose myself. I am reluctant to have surgery, as it is surgery after all. But it is also a vicious circle as I find it difficult to exercise because of my breast size, so they stay big.... But I am going to do this this time!

I am not recording anything other than my food. I am letting my fitbit calculate the calories burned. I am not entering any exercise on my fitbit. Therefore, I don't think I am double dipping my exercise. Am I right? I drink maybe a litre to two of water a day. No, i'm not weighing my food. I use my hands as a gauge for a…

Thats calries burned in a day, including exercise. Just not for exercise alone. And it is calculated by my FitBit, not me.

I Know!! Its so frustrating! Calculating calories by making recipes. I use a Fitbit and create meals on that. I don't buy ready meals or anything like that. Last night it was fish, oven baked, with a little coconut oil, salt and pepper, steamed rice and salad. I am 5'6" and 34. I have just lost my job, so am at home. So I…

I had lunch... this was just a light walk before dinner. Not a full on exercise session. Thats what has thrown me. I admit I'm not brilliant at understanding the science behind what I should eat before exercise. To be honest, because my migraines are so bad I get scared about exercising too much because having migraines is…

Amazing job. Inspirational. Tell us more!

If I'm at home its easier.... carrot sticks and hummus, or peppers... some sort of veg. Also if I'm extra hungry I will do a low fat soup. As I would rather 4 smaller meals and not be hungry than to snack on low fat snacks and still eat lunch or dinner. Also, I am trying the whole - drink water when you are hungry. If…

That's great! And inspirational for those of us about to start it! Well done. Any advice - or just do it?

Amazing job, You were a beautiful girl before, but you look happier now. Well done on the hard work and commitment that that took..... an inspiration to us all! x

Ok didn't know it shouldn't be done 2 days in a row..... And add a strength day - you mean weight training?
-
I'm leaning towards peri peri chicken and rice and salad.

Fab. Thanks
-
Fab! Well that's my plan for now and I am planning for next 4 - 6 weeks and then reassess. Set different goals. I am thinking of going by time on cross trainer and bike, and distance for treadmill (5k obv) and rower (maybe 5k too). And then in 6 weeks I'll be running 5k (!) and can alter what I focus on with the other…

I did not diet for my first week and just kept track of the calories I ate.... it was an eye opener because I often felt hungry but the calorie intake was high. I think being aware of how many calories are in something is vital. Yesterday I had this tiny egg cup size cheesecake in the fridge. I looked at the calories and…

Thanks everyone. Feeling extra motivated with all the support! Feel I can do this .....
