I'm 5'6", and am around 120 lbs now. I've been lifting for about 6 weeks MWF, and Tabata TTH, and sadly I don't think I've seen progress. Maybe it's because I don't consume the "required" amount of protein for bulking? But I just want to be leaner and defined. Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

Say, you need around 100-120 a day and you only consume around 50-60?

I drank a lot during my junior year in college and I think I have some sort of a beer gut. I think that what I really want is to lose it, and lose body fat as well. Hi, I'm 5 ft 6 inches. So I should just focus on building muscle then, and actually increase my caloric intake? I'm about 1400-1500 a day. Yeah I know they're pretty light but this is the first time I've worked out so I was thinking that maybe I can make myself used to lifting and then that's when I'll increase?
