Stupid ? -- What is TDEE?

Amazing! So inspiring! I wish I had done it when I was 20 instead of at almost 40!

This is such a good thread! Its so nice to see that I'm not in this alone. My 1st time trying MFP was 2 1/2 years ago. I did so well for a couple months - somehow, life got in the way and I'm back to where I started 2 1/2 years ago! I'm looking for some friends with similar challanges this time and hopefully that will be…

Wow ... interesting look. Sure is a thinking pic!

I am feeling motivated just by looking through all the posts that interest me. Seeing all the sucess people have had on here is encouraging!

After checking out this post, I think I a going to try this ... at 325lbs I'm not sure how this will work, but I will be giving it a try. For anyone doing this on a treadmill - do you adjust the incline at all? Thanks!

BUMP ... I need to get my head into this so I can have some after pics!

This would be my mother! I can only imagine what people must think when they see her rolling her way around the store! That is a big reason why I'm here. I don't want to be that woman!

I am right there with ya! We did splurge & had pizza and wings for superbowl, but we had been planning it since 1/1/10! I can't live without it, so we planned it for a special occasion! Sure, I went over calories 1 day. Oh well, thats life! Its not going to kill me. Lifestyle change to me is the key also. No diet! I'm…

Welcome Jen ... It is an eye opener seeing how many calories are in your favorites! I have been on here a month and lost 13lbs so far. I log everything as I eat it, or if I'm planning a bigger dinner, I log that early to see how many calories I can have throughout the day. My take on this is I am getting healthy. That is…

At the end of the day, we all have our setbacks. This is almost guaranteed! But there reaches a point where we need to stop saying, "Tomorrow I'll do better...." I did that for nearly a year and it took me that long to lose 18 pounds. Every day it was a new excuse, some 'reason' why I 'had' to eat poorly. I would tell…

Good for you eapps! Lean Cuisine is a MUCH better choice! I am on my 2nd snack for the morning! I had the mini rice cakes, now I'm eating a Fiber One Muffin. I will have Lean Cuisine roasted turkey for lunch - its only 150 cals to make up for the extra snack and put me back on track. I usually have 1 morning snack & 1…

I agree with ch ... log it and weigh in. It may not be as bad as you think, or it may be worse. Either way, hold yourself accountable. Why Wendy's today? Why not subway? or a frozen meal? Don't wait till tomorrow. Trust me, there is always another tomorrow. Today is now. Do it now. I was going to start 'tomorrow' too.…

I'm right there with you! Definately a change in thinking from the past has helped me so far. I had chinese on Saturday but didn't beat myself up for going 'over' my calorie goal. Everything in moderation is the key for a lifestyle change. Congrats!

It is definately worth it. My daughter is my biggest motivater. I have yo-yo'd for years and every time I start, I'm heavier than I was the last time. This time is it for me, no diet plans, not even weight watchers, I am changing my lifestyle. I see your goal is 89lbs. You can't get to 89 without getting to 3 first! That…

1. I am genetically predisposed to heart problems, diabetes, high blood pressure 2. I want to be a good role model for my daughter 3. I want to be able to go upstairs to bed without getting out of breath 4. I want to have more energy 5. I want to look better in my 30's (approaching 40) than ever before 6. I don't ever want…

These are awesome for inspiration! I too hope to add mine someday!

Congrats! You figured it out. thats what this is all about!

Welcome! I've been doing this for a couple weeks now and LOVE this site! I have yo-yo'd too for so many years. My goal now is not to just lose weight, but to get healthy. If losing weight happens because of that, great! It is eye opening just to look at the food you eat and realize how many calories & fat are in so much of…

I too, will say thanks for posting those pictures. I know its possible and seeing the proof in front of my eyes is very inspirational.

Welcome! I'm new here too, I joined last week. This has been such an eye opener to me in regards to eating especially. Logging my food actually makes me think about what I'm eating. I sit at a computer for work, so I log everything the moment it crosses my lips!
-
how do I 'save' this to read later? Hopefully by posting?
-
This has been great! Need to keep all this in mind on days I'm feeling a little down
-
Thats a good point! When I do eliptical at the gym the calorie count is much lower than MFP says too. I go with what the machine says since that has intensity (or lack of LOL) level
-
that is AWESOME! What an inspiration!
-
Thanks for the support, keep it coming!

I just joined today, but my hubby & I decided that 2010 was the year for us to begin a healthy lifestyle for our kids
-
I was writing down my food in a notebook, but this is much better!
