I am pretty sure you wouldn't accept this type of behavior from one of your girlfriends, so why consider accepting this behavior from him? This guy has lots of red flags and doesn't seem to respect you. There are PLENTY of other men who will respect you. In the mean time, focus on your goals and stay positive.

I love torrid, the swim wear is more fashionable and the models are at least a size 12/14.

I love this advice! I'm nearly a month into my weight loss journey and needed some meal time inspiration. A good friend of mine suggested I check out skinnytaste.com. It's a healthy recipe site. The meal ingredients are affordable and there are tons of amazing recipes. All the recipes I have made from skinnytaste are easy…

I just started going to the gym, just about 4 weeks ago. I go there 4-5 days a week for approximately an hour. I do strength training 3 days for 10-25 minutes and then cardio. I love the elliptical and bike. I do 30-50 minutes of cardio, and I do various programs on the machine, to mix it up. I have lost over 5 inches…

I tried it. The eating part was somewhat difficult for me and I didn't really enjoy the work out DVDs. I am finding success in tracking my calories and hitting the gym 4-5 times a week. I learned I like going to the gym versus doing a work out DVD. You may like 21 day fix!! It may work out well for you, but if I don't…

I *love* your response!!! I try to make healthy choices most of the time, but I dont want to stress or be legalistic about my food. I want to enjoy my life!

Great work! Are you planning to post some before and after pics?
-
Great work! You can add me if you would like. :)

Ditto. TX doesn't have weight listed either.

Extra calories and lack of planning.

I also pre log and edit through the day, as needed. I feel like planning helps me make better choices. Also when I feel unmotivated or in need of encouragement, I read posts on the discussion forums.

Hi! My name is Sarah. I'm married, 34, and a mom to 3 kids. Ages 10, 5 and 3. I live outside of Dallas, but plan to move back to Washington state within a year. I have struggled with my weight since I was 10, but have been obese for the last 12-13 years. I have a good 60-70 lbs to lose. What got me finally serious about…

You're truly inspirational! You look very happy and healthy too. :)

Several things at once, were the last straw for me. My favorite jeans had become super snug, I just felt lethargic and depressed. Also, my 10 year old son asked me to help him eat healthier and workout more because he wanted to get bigger muscles he could show off. We had been eating junk and it hit me that my husband and…

Me too! Clothes and measurement tape are the better indicators for me. I get scale obsessed too easily, so I am only weighing myself once a month.

I agree. It's awesome you (OP) admitted this, but apparently losing weight uncovered some deeper emotions. A therapist would be great at helping you gain a healthier prespective. I have been in and out counseling the last 12 months and Im so much better off than I was a year ago. ((((( hugs )))))

I'm with you. I'm 34, have 3 kids, and about 70 lbs to lose. Feel free to add me!

35-40 minutes, 4-5 times a week. I also do strength training before cardio.

Thank you, everyone for the book and website recommendations. I will do some research and have a better plan. :)

I think it does! I may give it a shot. :)

Oh my goodness! Your little sample workouts were just what I needed. Thank you for the advice!

I *love* your perspective and insights on weight loss and maintenance. Thank you for posting!
-
Thank you for the awesome tips!!

Today I did about 5 different leg machines and then I did the ellipitical (weight loss interval) for 35 minutes. I feel great! I think I will ask about the intro, just so I dont feel so overwhelmed in that section of the gym.

Thank you so much for all of your suggestions and ideas!!

2-3 times a week, first thing in the morning.

For me, since I'm trying to change my lifestyle, I don't feel comfortable having a cheat day. I don't mind having a meal I really want once or twice a week, however I make sure to log it in my diary.

I got tired of feeling sluggish and depressed. I want to take care of myself and feel amazing, have more energy and set a really good example for my kids. Also I'm going back to school in the fall, so I would love to embark on this new chapter of my life with a new attitude and a new body. :) I dropped 7 lbs in 24 days,…
