Hi my name is Keith and I just discovered this group. Summer before last my wife and I started to get into shape and then between work and life we sort of fell off. Well this past Christmas my wife and I made a solemn vow to get back into shape and stick with it. So since I just found this group and missed the initial…

There are many. As far as tracking your HR you need to make sure your device reads your HR and the program it uses talks to whichever app you use. I use Runkeeper with a Apple Watch 2. My wife uses Runkeeper with her Fitbit. There are many choices out there I suggest trying each of them and pick the one that works best for…

What about if I make it private or available to only friends

Polar Flow with my M400 and H7 hrm
-
No the H7 doesnt store any data. It can pair with your Loop and you and see your heart rate and calories burned but in order to more specific heart rate data you need to sync it with Polar Flow to see that. Once your phone is working you can use the Polar Beat app and it will pair with your H7. Keep in mind that these…

The Polar A300 does pair with the H7 chest strap and can be used to track swimming accurately plus it counts steps/activity and sleep and workouts. It also comes in different colors. Go to this page http://www.dcrainmaker.com/ he tests all fitness stuff and he is pretty unbiased.

I agree get the M400. it tracks everything the Loop does plus you can see your workouts right onvyour watch plusvit has built in gps so if you like to bike ride you see the course you took and see your heart rate all along the course.

I looked at the Microsoft band today. It's waaay too heavy, I would dare say it out weighs my fossil watch. Plus not water proof not much good to me.
-
A quick update the A300 will talk to your hrm strap via the 5Khz so you use it to track your swims if you do that.
-
I just read some more info on the A300 it doesnt use bluetooth to communicate to the hrm so you use it to track swimming.

Be careful when looking at waterproof listings. The fitbits are truly not waterproof. Polar products are up to about 60ft and the Garmin Vivofit is. As far as tracking swimming since I dont do that I cant speak on it except to say if your heart rate strap is Bluetooth only it wont work underwater. Its a problem with the…

For that I recommend the Polar Loop. It will do all that and is waterproof to 65ft and pairs with a chest strap hrm and talks to MFP.
-
Well you are in luck. The Polar products come in colors. The Loop comes in Blue, Purple and Black, the M400 comes in black and white, the A300 comes in many colors. I would advise against fitbit or many of the others as they are not waterproof. The Polar products above are waterproof to about 60ft. Fitbits are not. As for…

Depending on your planned workouts you have a few choices from Polar. There is the Loop which is an activity tracker and sleep tracker and can be paired with a Polar H7 hrm to get true calorie burns. The A300 is above the loop as it has a few more functions and can also be paired with the H7. The M400 has even more…

The chest strap monitors are the most accurate. The others arent reading heart rate but pulse rate and use a formula to give you heart rate which can sometimes be off by quite a bit.

The Polar Loop, M400, V800, A300 are all waterproof to about 60ft. In order for a heart rate strap to be read it can't communicate via bluetooth. Bluetooth technology isnt made for that. Most activity trackers track steps, and when paired with a chest worn heart rate monitor will give you an accurate calorie burn. All…

It is such a great product. I have had mine for almost a month. Unfortunately my bike is broke but hopefully I can find the time to fix it and then head out and test the gps function I love the different workout profiles.

I too wear my M400 all the time. It just works. That is what I love about it. I got lucky and recently upgraded my iPod touch to tbe 5th gen so I can sync and update MFP. I use mine with the H7 when I workout and I especially love the built in gps.
-
Another Polar device you could look at would be the Loop. It tracks all your activity and it is able to pair with the H7 HRM. Plus you can sync it through the Polar Flow app and update MFP at the same time. Do a search for DC Rainmaker's product review blog . His reviews are pretty good and he is very objective. You can…

Steps can be converted into meaningful miles just take your height in Feet and inches and convert it to decimal and then multiply that by .141 and multiply that by the number of steps taken and divide by 5281 and that will equate your steps to miles. Currently only the IOS app does the conversion for you. Hopefully they…
