I'm a little confused...you had a 41 minute video, and wasn't able to finish it in 1:20? Could it be because you kept stopping to post on here?

I just went on a picnic today with black bean burgers and baked beans (I know, lots of beans in there!) But we weren't going far, and heated everything before we left the house. Any salad thingie with a vinaigrette dressing rather than a creamy one...such as pasta, quinoa, lentil, etc. A small sliced ham should be safe out…

+2 Online dating can work; my bf and I are testament to that. But it's a good idea to meet as soon as possible because talking online or by phone, even with video chat, is just not the same. You cannot get a true sense of chemistry without meeting in person, and it's better to know ASAP -- before you've wasted a lot of…

I throw in various herbs and spices, and often some lentils or even a bit of shredded carrot or cubed sweet potato or butternut squash. Garam masala is an excellent sweet/mildly hot spice mixture which goes really well with brown rice and lentils along with any sweetish veggie. ETA: Also, the type of rice you buy makes a…

No offense, but I think I would rather be fat than eat such a boring diet day in and day out. At the very least, it looks like you need to include more veggies to get all your micronutrients in. They can be very low cal veggies like summer squash, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, etc, in as many colors as you can manage.…

When I was in the Philippines for work, we found that the majority of the ketchup there was sweetened with banana instead of sugar. Sugar had to be imported (or sugar-sweetened ketchup, which was even more expensive what with packaging). Bananas grew on the islands, so they were super cheap. It was a very different flavor,…

I'm medium build. 155 and size 9 Goal is 125 but it's a rather arbitrary number. I would rather go by body fat %, and that goal is 22-25%. I'm 40 and no kids. The last time I weighed around 125, I looked sickly, with spindly legs, and it was due to an ongoing medical issue which has long since been resolved. I've added…

My bf and I were just talking yesterday about how cool it was that posture improved as a byproduct of other exercises. For example, when you do dumbbell rows, deadlifts, anything that involves pulling weight up with your arms, try pinching your shoulder blades together at the top of the movement. Building up the core and…

I really wish someone had inspired me when I was much younger and could go hand over hand across the monkey bars and do pull ups without thinking twice and hang from my knees. I wish someone had inspired me to keep my strength and flexibility instead of starting all over at 40 with arthritis in my hip and laughable…

My bf is very fit, and I especially love the dimples at the small of his back, right above his buttocks.

That's a heart rate monitor, not a fitness tracker. You only wear it while doing steady state cardio. It won't be accurate at any other time. And yes, if you're using it appropriately, then you manually log those calories as exercise in MFP.

I probably ate something like that today but it was planned. My bf and I celebrated my graduation so we went to one of our favoriteres taurants, a Brazilian Buffet... Lots of veggies, but epic cake. I figured it's one day, it's a celebration, andythe worst that will happen is that the scale will move a little slower this…

I, for one, would never want to give you up...

Great job! It's funny, in the middle set of pics, it appears that the old you is looking at the new you with puzzlement. "Is that ME?!?!"

My grandma ate fatback. Just sayin'.

Look it up on Amazon and read the reviews. Pay attention especially to the number of 1-star reviews. If you have money to burn, chances are it will do no harm (although there's no actual scientific evidence of that, either) but otherwise, don't bother.

I found the salads to be entirely too full of meat, cheese, buns, and condiments.

There are two ways to calculate your calorie goal. 1. MFP calculates it based on BMR plus exercise calories. It adds the calories you burn during exercise to your normal daily burn and subtracts the deficit from the total. So, for example, if you set MFP to lose one pound per week, that's 3500 calories, or 500 calories per…

Mmmmmmmm....Sonic! Their hazelnut cream milkshakes are worth murdering over!

OMG thank you! I LOVE those things!!

Whole red snapper. I love grilling whole fish, and red snapper is so super tasty, but I have to drive to the next town and buy from Whole Foods, and they only carry large ones, so they end up about $30 for one fish. See also, lobster and crab. Way too expensive, way too tasty!

The barcode scanner does rock, except when occasionally it comes up empty and you have to search anyway. That's often the result of scanning a barcode from an item which was purchased in a box. The box's barcode will often come up, but the barcode on the individual items will not.

Welcome! Recommendation #1: don't let anyone (besides your doctor) tell you to cut out those sweets you love. If you're able to exert enough willpower to have them in moderation, then keep right on eating them. Just log them along with all your other food and make sure you're not going over your goal, and you can enjoy…

The Withings Pulse O2 is out, and it appears to have both a clip and a wrist strap. Might be worth checking out.

Days off from work are when I have the most fun cooking, grilling, trying new healthy recipes, shopping for more exotic foods...weekends, if anything, are easier than days when I'm too busy and might have to grab something quick.

One thing to keep in mind is that Fitbit connects through Bluetooth Smart, while BodyMedia connects through regular Bluetooth...so if you have an older phone, you won't be able to sync it with the Fitbit. I have a Droid Razr Maxx, so I'm leaning toward the BodyMedia as I prefer having the phone connectivity.

Cookie Crisp all the way! An entire cup of little cookies, 120 cals! IF IT'S WRONG I DON'T WANNA BE RIGHT!

The Zombies, Run! 5K version seems to be easier with a slower progression than the regular C25K, Also, there's nothing saying you have to actually finish it the first time. You can work your way up. These programs use intervals, usually 10 minutes of walking, then running for 10 seconds followed by a minute of walking,…
