  • The only place more likely than the gym to spread disease and certain death to innocent victims is Dallas Presbyterian Hospital. Why you would even consider this is beyond me. Go to the park, or your living room or basement.....don't go to the gym.
  • Don't be afraid! It took me a year but I am down 42 lbs, and about 18-23 more to go. I am not afraid at all, and neither should you be! Reaching your goals along the way is SO EXCITING and LIBERATING! It's the best I've felt (and looked in 35 years. Add me as friend if you'd like, would like to share and encourage.
  • Sorry if this is a repeat. I saved some 64 oz bottles.....cranberry juice, v8, etc., whatever.....and I fill them last thing at night with Zero water. Google Zero water filters. I am afraid of the tap water where I live. I store them in the refrigerator overnight. After breakfast, I start drinking water. I love coffee and…

  • Thanks, all. I did Google it, Heidi, and found this wonderful site, but there are many! When I get around to doing it I will post the results, look for them by Thanksgiving or so :) http://barbequemaster.blogspot.com/2013/03/how-to-grill-or-smoke-cabbage-on.html
  • Saw a variation.....maybe double the protein scoops, substitute honey with no sugar applesauce, and use PB2 instead of regular pb?
  • no way I'm going to say what I would have done, but there is no way you would ever guess either.....well, 1 person I know might guess. I think you should do what your checkbook and conscience allows. :)
  • In this order: 1) Submit the email to the gym, NOW! 2) Work out with your boyfriend and other male friends nearby for a while 3) Be on the lookout for the dude, and if you're lucky enough to see him, let him know there are several guys bigger than him that are hoping you get another email, and that they do not use email to…
  • This! Makes me feel like someone has a citywide contract out on me! Like, wth did I do to desrve this treatment? At least Socrates knew about the hemlock before he was forced to drink it!
  • Lot of great commentary, thanks to all. I started mfp August 6th, and went through a real eat-only-healthy-food kick. I started (at the advice of nutritionist) by doing a 3-day ketosis protein only phase. Very difficult for me. Then I delved into a balanced diet, balancing on a little bit of EVERY healthy food, including a…
  • Not very well-versed in all the bmr, tdee, maintenance stuff, a scientist I'm not! BUT, my nutritionist posts a sign in her office I thought you'd like: "it's not what you eat between Christmas and New Years, it's what you eat between New Years and Christmas". Everything in moderation, including, occasionally, moderation.…
  • John has it right. Although I'm not an accomplished weight trainer, my son is, and there is a theme that runs true in this area. Lift to stimulate, not alienate, meaning push the envelope but don't break it. This 3rd set runs to failure in the programs I have seen....that means generally you cannot do more reps---usually…
  • Well said! Lol!
  • Really enjoyed reading the responses. So many of us have the same questions. I prefer fresh stuff and I don't mind cooking, especially as I'm making progress with my shape and my weight, BUT: my wife also prefers quicker easier versions of healthy food alternatives, and she is making great progress, too. She has…
  • What I have learned is a myth is that I can eat the healthiest food (generally agreed upon by most people), in the correct volume generally agreed upon by most people, at the right time of day, at the right frequency, with the right spices/supplements, in combination with vitamins etc, at a calorie deficit level, a calorie…

  • My daughter-in-law is up to 8 (or 10?) handstand pushups ...... I say that's impressive in ANYone's book!
  • Don't feel bad, Aimee, don't be embarassed......just go get the job and get back on the horse! You've already proven you can do it. 99% of luck is found in intention, the other 1% is from eating chocolate. :)
  • Turned 61 this year, I agree with maria, I MUST exercise or the pounds won't go away.
  • Please count me in!
  • "Chef salad" minus all meat and cheese, plus walden farms zero calorie dressings.....check 'em out....delicious. For me, its all about pushing the temptation (for unhealthy cravings) out a little while with something nutritious. A nap doesn't hurt either.
  • Sorry to hear all this news Ann. Although it pales in comparison, I too, lost my dad in july this year. I wanted to share this one thing with you though, to get to the point, which will hopefully help you to mobilize your new efforts toward healthy living: I used my loss to spur myself on to live the best life I can in…
  • And thanks to all, of course...really don't understand the mechanics of the blog! :) BTW, I haven't lost 11 lbs, only 7. My initial weightwas entered from a different scale from the "official" one. Thanks again.
  • Thanks, KD! Appreciate your kind words and support!
