  • I'm with you, I'm 16 weeks and only gained 1.5 lbs, but everything about the baby looks good, no issues so they're not saying anything about it other than they were happy with my gain  Guess we'll be third tri gainers
  • For second tri, I'm doing the 1/2 lb gain. Some days I"m not hungry enough to eat it all, so I carry those extra cals to the next day as an exercise entry If I'm hungry I don't worry about going over, and in the same idea I'll take what i went over by and add them as quick cals to the next day. I'm doing this so I don't…
  • Had my 16 week checkup today. They checked my blood pressure (don't remember what it was, but it was good; it's written down but the book is in the car), baby's heart rate by doppler (156 bpm), and discussed other Q&A items, and the next couple of milestones. Next u/s actually won't be until week 20 (booo I thought it…
  • I have two (one was done in two parts): one wraps around my right ankle, the second on my upper back. I'd love a third one on the underside of my wrist but haven't ironed out a design yet.
  • Didn't read the book, didn't know the book existed until I started hearing a lot about it and then still didn't care to read the book. Hubby travels a bit for work which made it difficult to plan trying to get pregnant. I'm due in Feb and that's just how it worked out, after we seriously started trying between trips.
  • If it helps the worrying at all, my certified nurse midwife says once you get out of the first trimester, the chances of a miscarriage drop to only 5%. I'd say you're pretty good; but I agree, feeling the baby would definitely be a huge sense of relief in knowing everything's going alright in there!
  • Ooh.... will have to try this as snickerdoodles and molasses cookies are my fav!!
  • February 6th! Have my 16 wk appt this Tues and looking forward to the doppler!
  • 1. empty cereal bowl (dessert ) 2. 20 oz tumbler w/water 3. prenatal vitamins 4. vehicle title & registration paperwork 5. cell phone
  • I'm Kelley and I'm due 6 Feb 2013; don't know gender yet.
  • I'm seen by a certified nurse midwife who travels between 3 military bases and a military academy. The only time I'll be seen by an actual OB is in the delivery room (they work shifts so there's no guarantee who you'll get). So far I really like my midwife, so I can't complain.
  • Last week was like that for me. What I ended up doing was listening to my body and if I wasn't hungry, I didn't eat. I took the leftover cals for that day and created an entry under exercise called "leftover calories from previous day" and added that to the next day. Every day I was under I carried those calories over to…
  • Ashton was/is immature; that's why it didn't work out with Demi... Give the guy a try! If you like him and you both connect and have similar likes/wants, then awesome! If not, one date is just one night
  • I don't know if you'd count this as meeting me in person, but I'm 15 weeks, and 0 lbs gained. I actually lost almost 1.5 lbs when on vacation (~13 weeks) as I apparently underestimated how many calories I burned so I didn't eat enough back. In the two weeks since, I've worked my way back to where I started. I guess had I…
  • jamie31, Just an observation, but you may be gaining weight because you mentioned you're eating below maintenance. It may very well be that your body needs more than what you're feeding it, so it's hanging on to what it is getting (storing it for the pregnancy to make sure it has enough for the baby). If you bump it up to…
  • I've been keeping a list of names since we got married since my husband's told me he does not want any of our kids to share a name with ANY relative (includes cousins and cousins' kids :ohwell: ). While creating this list, a girl's name immediately jumped out at me that I absolutely love and it has not changed since we got…
  • Even though I have my profile set to 1/2 lb gain a week, it doesn't reflect gains on the ticker (at least not that I've been able to figure out). So I just gave up and set my ticker to not show up. Once the baby comes I'll change my goal to maintain for a few weeks and show my ticker again.
  • Were I work, we're given 6 weeks maternity leave w/full pay. I haven't decided if I want to take extra time than that as the timing of the baby may dictate I can't. We have a big inspection coming up in April (baby is expected early Feb), so depending on when the baby finally comes and when in Apr they decide to have the…
  • My last appt, we could hear the heartbeat but the baby was moving around so much that the midwife couldn't get a good listen for 10 secs to determine his/her heart rate lol. Maybe at my next appt the baby will cooperate  Still undecided if we want to know the gender for this first one or be surprised...
  • My maintenance was 1870, but I also worked out and didn't necessarily eat back all my workout calories. I ended losing 1.5 lbs after 2 weeks of vacation lol. But now in the second tri, my cals are 2120 since I read it was recommended to add 250 cals for 1/2 lb gain. We'll see where it gets me after a week; I may drop it…
  • P90X is an awesome workout and did wonders for me too! That, mixed with insanity is my go-to workout - I love it! Awesome results and way to keep pushing play!
  • I must say I haven't because I didn't even know there was such a thing. Guess I have some homework to do, thanks for the subject!
  • I'd have to say yes to all this, minus the sour cream; never cared for the stuff lol.
  • Rosered3333, listen to your body. if you're too tired to continue at the rate you've been lifting, then lessen the frequency and/or duration. The bright side to this is that most of what you're feeling (fatigue, no energy) goes away after the first trimester so you should be able to increase the number of days again when…
  • I've heard of people who had a small private wedding before the baby came, then later had a formal ceremony for friends and family after the baby was born. You could always think of it as renewing vows :) That's one idea for you anway. Hope it helps!
  • I did Insanity after P90X and while I loved it, I missed the weight workouts from P90X during those weeks. So I ended up making a hybrid and love it!
  • Hey all, moving over from the first trimester board. Happy to be here! Next OB appt/us is at 16 weeks so a little over 3 weeks to go!
  • Well, I'm now 13 weeks and 2 days, so I guess that means I need to move on to the second trimester board. Thanks all and I'll see you over there!
  • Hubby and I are both Air Force
  • <-- 2 female dogs, Tasha and Chloe. Tasha is a dachshund/husky mix (yeah, we're not sure how that worked out LOL), and Chloe is a beagle/jack russel mix. Both were shelter dogs and the best dogs I've ever had!
