  • I don't calorie count, I just count the ones I'm working off and still lose weight. I don't care about how many I get per day. Whatever works for you really. Its all on the individual person, and life style.
  • Jamie Pressly. lol@ Ryan Renolds. !!
  • Wow, this made me see the other side of all our daily grind work outs. Its great to see everyone can still enjoy things. That's always a plus and a good motivation. I also enjoy some good acoustic guitar playing, and I really love to sing. In fact I tried out for Americas Got Talent this last January. Didn't get a call…
  • First, you did achieve some great goals. #1 You've accomplished your personal goal of completing Insanity!! Thats outstanding! #2 You've gained muscle, which does burn fat. More muscle you have, more fat that is burned! So your doing a great job. Those results on any Insanity commercial or website are those that have done…
  • Might of already been said, but no way am I reading through 174 post. Not Affraid - Eminem Lose Yourself - Eminem
  • Good luck with the Air Force basic training!! For push-ups, those are just something your body has to be built to do. Id start with the push-ups on the knees, and then after about two weeks I'd change it. Every two days you should do those knees push-ups until failure. This will get those muscle ready for the next step and…
  • Only reason I would think twice about purchasing these is this. Insanity which is made by the same company and fitness instructor is technically the same time. Take away Insanity's warm ups and cool down, you are really working out for about 25 - 30 minutes. So I think what this is, is a shortened, less warm up version of…
  • I was stationed in good old North Carolina for four years, good times!! Good ol' J-ville!! Now the USMC decided South Carolina would be a good idea..
  • I've looked at Subway and its good, I do like turkey too!! What kind of bread would you recommend? I know swiss cheese has no carbs, and I go for low/no carbs foor while eating, so thats a good thing. I do like Mcdonalds, but the breakfast taste fake and platic to me so I havent actually had that in years. I've never tried…
  • I laugh at myself, becuase the style change is funny! I went from delicious Doritos and Coke to celery and pure water all the time. I'm kind of a jokster though so maybe that is why I find humor in it. Almost like the gambler who thought he had it, wagered his pay check and lost it, but still somehow just laughed at it. I…
  • A quote I live on day to day is, "whatever you are going through, will soon be over. One day you will look back and it will be a life lesson, and you can smile and laugh at what was, and enjoy now..What is." On a diet and exercise note doing and completing the first day is the first big step, and once you do that, the…
  • When I say things like I'll start tomorrow, what Im usually doing is still trying to convince myself I want to do this.. It was my same situation with quitting smoking. Just like when people start new trends or diets on Janruary 1st due to it being the resolution, start December 31st and let Janruary 2nd day! I also cannot…
  • Hey, thanks for all the encouraging words, and Semper Fidelis to those Marines, and the parents/grandparents that are Marines. Its a great deal for the most part. I do remind myself of all the hardships I been through, and how could it possibly compare to losing weight? I just think weight is a whole new animal to tackle.…
  • I used to do the thing where if I was bored I'd eat, and if I still feel at all that way, I grab tuna, or a piece of turkey, or something with little to no carbs just for giggles. Although lately I've went to chewing gum instead of grabbing food, which has helped as well. Welcome to the site.
  • From a few years back, I remember trying one out, and although I did finish the 30 minutes on it, the seat was about as comfy as sitting on a cactus.
  • Thanks for all the replies and encouragement! Very good people in this community. I still take a few med's for the headaches and what not, cause they get so bad I get nauseated and feel like I'm going to pass out. But for those I know they are coming, and I'm still active duty and its safe for me to work out and do my…
  • Congrats on quitting smoking! See? Your already showing you can be a success. As a person who quit smoking as well, I know how much fun that is not. I also have a goal of 40 some odd pounds, we can do it!
  • I've never actually tried the stationary bikes at the gym. Do these work for you Damonique? I always walk by them every day, and wonder about them so I can possibly change up my routine. I know there is something at my gym called 'spin class' that looks horrible and they look to be getting there sweat on, but for someone…
  • Hey, welcome to MFP! Also, grats on the first post, and congrats on stepping towards making the change. About seven years ago I was addicted to smoking, and the reason I bring this up is cause dieting, losing weight and working out is like quitting smoking. It has to be something you want 100% completely and you have to…
  • I didnt scroll through and read every single post, but running shoes, and comfortable clothes to run in. I personally dont like clothes sticking to me when I'm running. I prefer New Balance, and Under Armour as the shoes of choice. New Balance last forever by the way(lol) Other than that, I can honestly say you will not…

  • Keeep in mind your body does and wil go into a defensive mode when its not getting enough calories, or burning to many, and losing to much weight to quickly. Like was stated, you should also add in some small weight training. Nothing big but get on the floor and do some pushup's, if they are to difficult go on your knees…
  • Welcome, congrats on the first post. Any big goals, or neato stories to share?
  • Hey man , I wish you luck you seem to have a strong determination. Reading your post as well you seem to have very good discipline and can reach your goals quite easily. Its just all about the "once you get there, continue doing the routine to maintain" situation it sounds like to me. Althought I definitley wouldnt go down…
  • Sweet, sounds good.. Thanks.
  • Thank you very much. lol. It starts light, and ends heavy. I have someone I'm working with at the gym on base who's arms are as big as my legs. However, my goal is not to have arms as big a house. Just cut and tone. No problem on the serving..My pleasure. Thanks for the support
  • Tuesdays/Thursdays are weight days for me. I do include them into my routine.
  • Hey all. Thanks, and no problem. Its been a great 14 years so far.
