I'm 5'8' and and in my 50's and my losing calories are 1290 for 1 lb. a week, my maintaining calories are 1620. I exercise 4-5 times a week and I have a hard time losing any weight. After maintenance I ended up gaining 4 pounds so now I'm back at it at 1290 calories. Keep in mind also your frame size, I am large framed.

I think for me tracking my food is critical, it really holds me accountable. I seem to be struggling to maintain my goal weight now. I never go over on calories but a couple pounds have crept back on and I don't know why. I don't think you should stop enjoying life by being so stringent that you never have a splurge but…

I just rode my recumbent bike this morning and consider this a stationery bike too. The first 10 minutes I wasn't getting my HR up much either. Read the labels many bars have tons of sugar and palm kernel oil in them which is very bad on the arteries. Quest bars are a great choice. Just google quest bars. special K bars have sugar as well, adkin bars I think are good but again palm kernel oil is one of the ingredients. I find the good bars pricey too. Maybe…

I try and keep sugar under 20 grams. It is hard, but I am usually around 20-22 grams a day. I eat Greek plain yogurt but not a whole cup, 1/2 cup and I put sugar free maple syrup on it for flavor, just a tad. I use whole wheat everything, sugar free coffee creamer. I like fish but if I didn't I would order grilled chicken, watch the marinades though they are high in sodium. I also eat grilled chicken wraps, dressing on the side. I heard somewhere that if you want to weight 120 pounds then you should eat 1200 calories. So if you want to weight 130 pounds you eat 1300 calories. Sounds kind of crazy to me. I am on maintenance and my calories are around 1600.
