Yep. I feel very fat. I can't be fat. I wear a size extra-small shirt and am probably about a size 6 jeans. I just want to be the best and am upset when I look and see that I am not.

OP, start closer to the bar. I know you're going for that super upright position but it just doesn't work on all body types. I like this Ed Coan video for sumo deads. Yep. I only went as low as 1200 calorise but I did it RIGHT from the bulk. So the surplus to 1200 was painful. And in the end, it didn't work...cuz my *kitten* is weighing the same right now as it did at the end of my bulk :) Lesson learned.

OP I know you're not a noob a lifting or anything but I'm just curious about how low you say you sink your hips to sumo. If you're too low, your hips could be rising early and that might cause some back pain.

When I get back into working out, I can barely climb the stairs. I just keep doing it until it doesn't hurt anymore. I also eat high protein and supplement with magnesium which helps with DOMs.

With an 1800 calorie TDEE that's not fun. It's just sad and frustrating.

I'm 5'4", can I play? My heaviest was about 178-180 MFP SW: 163 Low Weight: 128 Current Weight: 140 Goal Weight: ? I don't know. I wouldn't mind leaning out a bit. Might be nice to be 135.

You could drop water weight the day of/night before but you'll be uncomfortable that morning, and as soon as you eat you'll start gaining back and just be ticked off again. I say stick to a deficit, get a fake tan, suck in, and be sure to have nice posture on the day of. Enjoy.

Yes, I started with once per week because it was all I could afford and it did the trick. I obviously had to lift on my own another 2-3x though.

Weight training will make all the difference when it comes to looking like you weigh less than you do. At the moment you weigh less than me and are a bit taller. With heavy strength training you can start decreasing body fat % and you will have a more defined look.

I can choose whether or not to work through my lunch. Sometimes I sit and stare at the wall, sometimes I go observe other teachers, sometimes it's my prep.

I just mix them into whatever I'm cooking at a low heat with a rubber spatula. Works better if you break up the wedges first. Depending on what I'm making it will make it less thick if there is water from vegetables. I also like to add nutritional yeast sometimes to thicken it. If I have extra calories I'll even add some…

Yep and there's something to be said for just pushing yourself. I'm in the boat this week where I'm traveling and I'm paying for daily gym passes because I don't want to get off track. No excuses! Just don't beat yourself up :)

I'm 5'4" and have been 170-180lbs. I believe I held my weight well, or whatever that means. 150 is definitely fine for your height. If you want to lose weight, just start with mini goals. Shoot for your first 10 lbs and see how you feel.

Why do you want to carb cycle? I mean there's nothing wrong with it but it's not magic. I find it more beneficial for training purposes/refeeds if anything.

? Split up your calories however you please. Just stay in a deficit. My dinners usually ave about 350-400 calories. Shirataki mac n cheese with chicken sausage and laughing cow cheese sauce is my go to.

Video? I'm curious about how low you "sink your hips", as you mentioned. You pulling sumo, right? You said squat in your OP but I think it was a typo.
