The one thing that is a misconception is that you can't gain weight while eating healthy-- its about calories burned vs calories ate. So you can overeat healthy foods. Also, are you logging drinks that have calories? sometimes people don't realize how many calories are in the things that they drink. You may be…

Congrats!!! Best rule is don't compare yourself to others, only yourself. In no time you will get better and be able to be proud of where you started =)

a heart rate monitor would help
-
When I went there, I did mostly cardio- lots of time on their elipticals and treadmills-- but I missed the classes, so I switched.

Thanks! that helps! That is a great goal- how many miles do you do now? Have you looked into any training programs?
-
Since last January I have lost 34 lbs =)

I am a new runner as well. Training for a half marathon in April. My math skills are bad, so converting km into miles is not my strength =)

Sounds fun, I am in =) I like a challenge

I listen to my body. I try to work out every day (knowing that this isn't going to happen though) If my body is feeling good, I work out because then it helps my mind to feel good. But there may be a day that I am busy, not feeling well, extra tired and I will take that as a rest day. Some weeks I may have none and others…

Very toned body =)

I eat Dannon Greek Yogurt-- 80 calories and it fills me until lunch.

I used to be against counting them. I was like I will never do that. I don't know what my hesitation was- probably that I thought it would be a ton of work. At first it was because I didn't realize how many calories were in things, etc. But now even when I don't log them in, I am still aware and in my head counting them.…

I get to work around the same time. I used to eat before I went to work and I would be starving by lunch and found myself snacking more. I try not to eat breakfast until 9-930 now and find that I eat healthier and snack less.

When i started I didn't count calories- but I lost weight much slower. So for the first two years I probably lost 10-15 lbs a year. And then in the 3rd and 4th years I started to semi count them-- losing 35 lbs a year. This last year i have really watched and counted and I lost 56 lbs. So it works, and it worked for me,…

congrats!!!

I listen to all types of music when I work out- but old eminem and pibull are some of my favorites =)

I think you can do it. One of the nice parts about the race, is the motivation from the other people will help! Have you tried to increase your running and decrease your walking times? That may help. But you are doing great, don't worry, you will do it-- You have until April! I am running my first half marathon in April…

When I really focused on making this a goal, it took a couple weeks. I downloaded a program on my phone (couch to half marathon). They have you run intervals- walking and running. I am a beginner runner and have worked my way up to running 5 miles without walking, so it is possible =)
-
I just acknowledge that its a bad moment and that it will pass. Its part of the process, but to have faith in the work that you are doing =)

That is me-- to a tee. I have always hated running, always. I have had friends who have told me that eventually you will love to run but I seriously thought that they were lying or crazy. I started running races for good causes over the last two years and I would hate it the whole time until the end when I would feel a…

Congrats-- rest for a day and drink plenty of water.

It depends on what you are doing-- an hour on the eliptical I will burn about 500 calories- yesterday running for an hour I burned 850. but it also depends on weight, fitness, exertion, etc. do you have a heart rate monitor with a chest strap?
-
welcome!!! you can find great encouragement here-- welcome to a new lifestyle!
-
I am in for 75-- training for a half marathon =)
-
I agree with what someone has said before- on alternative days. I think its a great job!
-
congrats!!
-
i love when that happens, congrats!!

I do t25 and still run, go to workout classes like zumba and other things I consistently lose weight-- but its more about being active than what I am doing , in my opinion
