I'm also in the same boat- gaining and losing the same 5 pounds, but only 4 pounds away from my goal. Sorry I can't offer advice, just waiting to see if anyone has any.

Don't weigh in daily- you will set yourself up for disappointment and might give up. Water can really mess with the scale. Do it weekly.

I allow myself one day to 'splurge' but I don't go too crazy and I make sure I exercise a lot on that particular day.

In my class I haven't seen anyone wear the padded shorts---but go for it. It certainly would help.

Increase your calories- especially if you're running...doesn't seem like you're eating enough.

Actually the hardest thing about it (for me anyway) was getting used to how sore the seat makes your butt! LOL.

Yes, set your own resistance and yes, stay seated if you choose!

I was always afraid to try it but my husband made me go and it's fine. It's not easy, but you just go at your own pace. The first few times I went I tried to stand up and pedal when they tell you to, but I couldn't do it. After a few classes I was able to. Agreed! I'm also bugged by the improper use of your, you're and to, too and two. Oh, and WHY do alot of people spell ridiculous wrong? It's ridiculous, not rediculous.

A heart rate monitor will give you the most accurate reading. But, I use the app called Endomondo for tracking my workouts.

My husband has lost almost 32 pounds since February 14. Soooo.....if you stick with it you could be at your goal by the end of summer!

Give it time, trust me. Take your measurements...the scale doesn't tell you the inches you are dropping. Your pants will get loose if you keep working out!

I allow myself one day per week to have about 2,000 calories. On the other days I'm at 1350. I have to have that 'cheat' day to keep my sanity.

Do you take spin classes? Best way to burn alot of calories in an hour.

3 things that helped me...don't focus on the scale at first, especially if you went from not exercising to doing it 4 times per week...you are building muscle and losing inches. Take your measurements and let how your pants fit tell you how you're doing. Also, cut out alcohol. My huband and I were both at a weight loss…

It can be anywhere from 2-5 lbs for me. I try to avoid the scale for about 2 weeks out of the month because of it!

How many calories do you eat in a day? (not including the exercise) The HRM will give you a better reading on your calories for sure.
