  • You just single-handedly solved my sweaty boob phone issue. I can't believe I never thought of that. You are actually my hero.
  • Unfortunately, there isn't a clear cut answer because all women are so different in this aspect. For me, I found that any form of hormonal birth control (low dose, high dose, NuvaRing, etc) would make me overly emotional and also made it nearly impossible for me to lose weight when I tried. About a year ago, I had a copper…
  • Without taking sides here, I think the real problem is everyone speaking in absolutes. Diet pills probably do work for some people - especially those that are extremely overweight and need to shed pounds fast to avoid onset of diabetes or other obesity-induced conditions. However, there are also plenty of people out there…
  • In case a double down wasn't enough, Domino's now makes pizza that uses fried chicken as crust. GOD HELP US ALL http://www.salon.com/2014/04/15/dominos_just_replaced_its_pizza_crust_with_fried_chicken/
  • Planet Fitness is a simple example of "you get what you pay for"
  • It sounds like what's going on might not be a problem with your diet, but rather something you might be able to tease out with a therapist or even a close friend. I struggled to stick to ANYTHING for a very long time until I starting seeing someone after a death in my family. Now I aim for the caloric deficit that those…
  • Healthy people certainly DO get low blood sugar levels, especially when making a rapid and radical change to a diet and exercise regimen. Usually upping calorie and/or water intake will remedy the problem, but OP can do as she pleases with whatever advice is given. Don't get all butthurt just because she didn't take yours.
  • Investing in a food scale is so, so worth it. You'll be much more accurate and you'll be really setting yourself up for success! Feel free to add me! The support from my MFP friends is really important and seeing their daily progress is an encouragement for me to stay "on the wagon" even on days where I'm craving a whole…

  • This is something I struggle with as well. When I first started using MFP, I would think to myself, "If I just eat this cookie and don't log it, then it never even happened," which is not the case at all. I kind of got over that by making a resolution to log absolutely everything in MFP while NOT on any sort of healthy…
  • I honestly go out of my way to take my makeup off before working out because I don't like the way it feels to sweat under my SPF moisturizer. That being said, there's nothing wrong with wearing makeup and cute outfits at the gym as long as you're there to work and not to get in the way. I, personally, can think of no…
  • They're not really a typical protein bar, but I am a HUGE fan of Kind bars. They're essentially just nuts and contain very little sugar. They're also made with simple, natural ingredients, which is wonderful. If you can find them on sale or by the box they can range from $1.15-$1.50 per bar. Not too bad considering that…
  • I have a list of things that I like to do when I'm feeling snacky. First, I'll almost always make a pot of tea. Slowly sipping something warm gives me something to do and a lot of times can satisfy my cravings completely. If I'm still antsy or stressed, I'll pick up a piece of knitting. Having something to focus on and do…
  • Made this for dinner last night! A recipe of my own creation :) I used nasoya light extra firm tofu, which brought the calorie totals per serving to around 450 for a very filling meal Easy Thai Curry (makes two servings) 1lb of preferred protein or veggies (chicken, beef, chickpeas, tofu, whatever) 1.5 tbsp curry paste of…
  • This is too funny. You'll be totally fine, but I would definitely think about adding some different veggies to your normal rotation! Maybe throw in some eggplant, zucchini, cauliflower, cucumbers, green peppers, onions, etc along with smaller portions of your orange veggies!
  • This is absolutely not true. I do not have children and I do have a copper IUD. The risk of the IUD being expelled is a bit higher in women without children (around 10%), but expulsion VERY seldom causes any sort of damage. Additionally, I work in OBGYN research and conduct several studies in which we administer IUDs. I am…
  • If you're sensitive to hormones, you should consider a copper IUD. Even without insurance, they cost about $300 and last for ten years. I have one and it has been a real godsend (I also don't tolerate hormones well). $300 may seem like a lot, but if Plan B is still running $50/dose, you've already almost spent that much.…
  • I think it's really unfair to throw around what I call the "ED bomb" when someone is clearly expressing a goal that is within healthy BMI range. I'm a 5'8" female with a similar goal to OP. Healthy BMI is a *range* for a reason! On top of that, it's a range that we like to think of as a flexible guideline rather than a…
  • Hey girl! Just added you. Sounds like I'm near your age with just a bit more to lose. Feel free to ask me anything and I'm glad to have a new friend!
  • I know that my moments of weakness are moments of stress or boredom. In those moments, as long as I am already well fed, what I really need is something to keep my hands busy. I picked up knitting and cross stitch to keep me busy and distracted while doing things like sitting on conference calls or watching TV. I may be…
  • Added! And congrats, looks like you're almost half way there!!
  • Yeah I've definitely noticed some fluctuation within that range in the past. Regarding the 1200, I usually exceed it because it's fairly unrealistic for me. Even though my "goal" on here is 1200, I personally count it as a good day when I stick between 1200-1400 :) Thanks for the reply!
  • Wow, I'll try and squeeze something in here between the cat fights. I've never found any sort of medication (OTC or otherwise) that really burns fat, but I have found that keeping large amounts of water within reach is really helpful for keeping my metabolism running at a good pace. On days that I forget my water bottle at…
  • Hi! 23 year old female here 5'8" SW: 190 CW: 181 GW: 135
  • A liter of water a day is well below what you should be drinking, even without the coffee! Maybe try to get yourself to drink a cup of water between cups of coffee to up your water intake. A lot of daytime fatigue is due to dehydration anyway, so it can only help.
