If I cook a meal for myself using about a tbsp of oil at 120 cals but, only eat half of what is actually cooked, then I only log half the amount of cals from the oil. (60 cals)

The fact that you haven't gained above 226 is great!!!

Things that I consider junk food is anything that is high in fat, carbs, sugar, cals and sodium that also totally lack of substance...pretty much no nutrition. If I have to feel guilty for eating it, then it is junk food to me. With that said, moderation is key because you can not deprive yourself of the foods that you…

Hi! I am looking to lose a total of 72 lbs. Would like to join the group also. Need all of the encouragement and motivation that I can get.:)

Yes, for a real "cheat" treat, I have me a few drinks. Even if I do decide to have fried chicken, a few drinks or whatever, I usually can plan it out to where I don't go over my daily nutritional goal. I also limit myself to one meal time versus a full day. This methods helps to keep me on track.

Fried chicken and French fries...yum!!!

As long as your period is not a painful one, I don't see why you would have to stop working out. I usually work out during my period as well.
-
Thanks for the motivation!!

I have PCOS too and understand the struggles with losing weight and trying to keep it off. Story of my life. Hopefully we can kick PCOS' butt this time around!!!

Hi! I am sorry to hear about your ailments. We all just have to find what works for us. I can't jog due to having bad knees. So, I walk but that doesn't burn lots of cals without power walking or a good length of time during each work out. Although, my mother gifted me with a stationary bike. It does resistance and has…

I drink about a gallon of water per day (64 fl oz). I would drink more but, my bladder would have me running to the toilet all day. Water goes right through me.

Yes, congrats on your weight loss and for taking a very healthy approach with lots of fruits/ veggies.

I had a fruit fly problem too. Then, I started putting all of my fruit and most raw veggies into the fridge. I leave onions and potatoes out at room temperature. I also put any fruit peels into a small bag before throwing into the trash so that the flies aren't drawn to the trash. Within a WK or so, the problem was solved.

My biggest loss was 8lbs in a wks span. It was within the first 2 wks of initially starting my weight loss journey. I cut out all sugar, energy drinks ,cut my cals drastically and bam!! I am sure that that loss was due to water weight. Now, my average weight loss is 1-2 lbs per wk. I've had some wks where I didn't lose…

Hi!! I am La Toya and 28yrs old. I live on the east coast with my family. Along with my husband, I have a son who is 7 yrs old and a new daughter who is 9 months old. She is my Christmas Baby!!! <3 <3<3 I came to MFP to help aid in losing weight of course. In the past, I would lose weight but, always gain it back. I gained…

I agree also. If you are a beginner then, walking is the way to start out. It takes the stress off of your back and will help you build up endurance for those other workouts later on.
-
I lost weight in the past by just walking as my exercise. It's is a great workout. I have knee issues now and can only walk for brief amounts of time. So, I use my stationary bike a lot.
-
Yes, thank goodness that most places are offering low cal options and actual nutritional content of their meals. Haven't eaten at McDonald's or other fast food spots in months for that reason. It's crazy how much crap is in our food. Now, I can go out to a restaurant and have better options and know what is going into my…

Currently am using my stationary bike 5-6 days a wk, which also has 10 levels of resistance. I can only get up to level 7 right now though. The bike also has personal trainer programs included. I do the bike for 60-80 min per workout. I also walk to drop off and/or pick up my son from school which is a 20 min walk each…

I have struggled with my weight since I was 8yrs old. I lost weight in the past but, was basically starving myself every day. So, the weight came back each time. I gained weight big time during my pregnancies because my metabolism was wrecked from the previous extreme dieting. Whatever I ate, my body seemed to absorb.…

Eating green veggies keeps me regular. Try eating 1 cup of spinach per day and I am sure that you will see results at least by the next day.
