  • May you always be proud of your fantastic achievement! Well Done!
  • We are just moving out of winter into summer- not that we had much of a winter here, was eerily mild. Here Here to feeling fit and healthy! That's the spirit
  • Yes I hear you- cycling can make me really hungry too, when I'm fit, slimmer and doing a lot more miles. I'm so impressed with your weight loss hey, it's really motivating and inspiring! I don't think the scales matter- at the moment it's really good for me to monitor them, and the centimeters, because for months I simply…
  • Hi! I was in a similar position to you, although I'd never used MFP before but other tools. Had also gained it all back, 30kg off and then on in 18 months. I felt awful, and like a failure- so I just kept eating to distract me from these feelings. I started here at MFP 3 weeks ago tomorrow- SO GLAD! I already feel loads…
  • Great! I started 3 weeks ago tomorrow- am really happy I did! I also stopped with the diet drinks a few months back, it made a huge difference, they made me feel hungry. I have also cut out most processed foods, and have added raw veg to most meals. I LOVE vegies raw! I never would have thought I'd say that! Also have cut…
  • hey everyone! So, thanks for your comments  I'm loving MFP! I'm 7kg lighter than when I started this thread AND 10cm less wide! How's everyone else going? :flowerforyou:
  • WOW! Well done!

  • [/quote] Yep - slow and steady is the way - I used to suffer from Asthma myself - took 3-4 swaps of meds to find something that worked for me - but then I've always been an awkward so-and-so. Happily, as the weight's come off, the asthma's subsided to the extent that I get a Salbutamol Inhaler at the start of the summer…
  • Done  I had my first asthma attack ever during my ride on Saturday- have just seen my doctor and have medication now, will be having proper tests done asap. It does mean though I need to go a little slow and gently until it's all sorted. Really pumped to give it a good go!
  • Please put your name and goal next to a number 201 202 203 204 205 206 207 - Featfabtastic- 100km 208 - Frannybobs - 320km (200 miles) logged in km for same reason as my team leader :-) 209 - TheBigYin - 800km (call it 500 miles, but it'll be logged in Km, as second half of month I'll be doubling up in Vuelta Challenge)
  • I read that book a couple of years ago- it's on my shelf. Thanks for the reminder :-)
  • Thanks Everyone for taking the time to share your thoughts and help me! I went for a ride on the weekend with a friend, and am over it. Exposure therapy! I will leave swimming for a couple of months- it's cold here- but will apply the same tactic. I now say in my head "This is life- this is IT- it's not a practice run".…
  • Awesome question, and inspiring responses. Thank you to everyone!
  • Have joined the Vuelta Challenge! Thanks everyone

  • Hey thanks for your encouragement everyone! How do I join the Vuelta Challenge? I can't find it- or is it Team 2, rider 207, under the August challenge? I'm in!
  • I'd really love to join in- although the hard hitting reality I found today is that I am super unfit, so I think I'm best at this stage to set up my own goals- riding three times a week for 45 minutes. I hope to join in as I get fitter! Thanks:smile:
  • yeah this guy is amazing isn't he! what an inspiration!
  • Oh this is a great group! Thanks everyone for taking the time to help to feel at home here! I went for my first ride this morning (my last long distance ride was an easy 80km, which I did in September last year). I thought I'd be able to start with a gentle 20km. HAHAHA! Who was I kidding?! I nearly collapsed after 5km!…
  • oh great! Thanks for replying  I did my first long distance ride last year (about 1500km), and fell in love with cycling. I stopped in October, then had some injuries and have put on about 30kg since not riding anymore. Have just bought a new bike and really want to get back our riding 80-100km a day again. I'm…
  • I completely agree- if I tell myself I can't have something, it works to set me up for a binge. Best I learn moderation rather than cutting out completely. Thanks!
  • That's a good point too, working out. I've been getting up early to do yoga, but am itching to get on my bike again. Thanks for the advice!
  • haha! yes, this is a good point! Why put off till tomorrow what we can do today? Thanks :-)
