  • It is so annoying hitting the 50's and the weight seems to crawl. I turned 50 in January, I was complaining to my doctor last week about the lack of weight loss recently and he told me: a) It was going to take me longer to loose my last 20 kg because I'm not the same person I was back in the 'fat' days and b) I have to…
  • Please stop with the OMG horror of getting 'older', it is useless worrying about it because it's a fact of life  For those of us shackled to a desk for 8 hours, work on changing it or deal with it and look at what you can do with the other hours. Nothing I had planned as a child has come to fruition and guess what I…
  • Stress in my job, I mean how many times do I have to show these people something  Funny though I get to a point where the stress will cause me to binge or it goes the totally other end and I don't eat at all. It is just 6 letters and yet it causes so much trouble  My doctor has told me to find a new job that…

  • As an older lady, I would have to say yes. You could be the worlds best looking, guy ever BUT if your heart is cold and your soul is selfish then your looks won't keep you warm at night or love you for who you are. My ex was a fit healthy good looking guy, I thought I was the luckiest girl ever, unfortunately the demands…
  • Thanks for writing this, I totally agree, because I've been doing the same thing and it is mind blowing to realise it. I've gotten to the stage that I set 2 alarms to make sure I still have time for the morning workout and I've been hating it, when I actually really love exercise these days. So yes I missed it today and…
  • Hi everyone  I've been silent on here for a while. First sending big hugs to all of you...you're fantastic and awesome :flowerforyou: It seems OMG that I may be entering further down the path towards menopause, or so the doc thinks, :noway: It seems a little surreal but I suppose I knew it was coming, (think the hot…
  • Don't you dare give someone else control over your life  He is an idiot and obviously not worthy of being in your circle of awesomeness :flowerforyou: Do what you need to do - cry, rant, break something, eat if it helps, but try healthy first and if you still crave something "comforting" then allow yourself that.…
  • Yep slow losing here (puts hand up). I've lost 33kg (73lbs) since January this year and have plateau d for the last 3 months. I even moaned to my doctor about it lol, only to be told that it was normal, it was just that my body needed to adjust to the weight loss. Doesn't mean I'm giving up trying to move the scales …
  • When I went to gym I treated myself to a PT hour to ask questions and get a new routine. He told me to work a full body weight routine 3 to 4 days a weeks and cardio the other days with at least 1 days rest and don't do set muscles on different days unless I wanted muscles like him...I do not :noway: Sadly the membership…
  • I have another 20kgs I would like to lose to reach my final goal weight, I have lost 33kg so far and this next lot is taking a long time to move. I am loving the NSV though as I've lost 4 dress sizes in total so far
  • People who think they have a right to comment on decisions you've made about your life :grumble: Last time I checked it was MY life and MY Choice.... If they want to comment I suggest they go find their own life and deal with it
  • I love the idea of running and made a start recently, not flat out just slowly and carefully, unfortunately I now have really sore knees. There really are times that I hate having arthritis :grumble: I got such a telling off from my doctor, he has told me to stop running and walk only or else I'll have to have new knees…
  • If that's all you can have then I think it is good because at least you are having something. I sometimes have an isowhey shake because I just don't get lunch breaks ever and I work 40-50 hrs a week, so I figure if I can chug one of these down it a) gives me some nourishment and b) I don't go looking for the wrong…
  • Yippee, a place for the vertically challenged  If it's okay I'd love to join? I'm 4' 11" and love my height except when I need something on the top shelf, but that's what my 2 tall adult children are for  1. What is one place you haven’t traveled that you would love to go to? Canada - the love of my life is…
  • To wake up Christmas morning and have my bf next to me, plus to have both my kids find a job, material things pale in comparison to having those we love close to us and happy
  • Okay hot overload now complete  Thank you for this after a day at the office this is AWESOME:heart:

  • Great to hear someone have such a fantastic result to online dating. My guy and I met online 12months now, still going strong, moving in together  Random fact about me: I tend to jump into the deep end of something, thinking "yep I can do this" and then find myself doggie paddling like mad  Example: other…
  • OMG, I just watched this and nearly fainted. How could any woman want to try and be something so unrealistic. I'm 50 in January and guess what, I love me! I have stretch marks - 2 big babies - I'm only 4' 11'' :ohwell: I have wrinkles at the edges of my eyes - Just goes to show how much I've enjoyed life  Yes the…
  • This would be an awesome idea, but living in Australia I'd need a little time to save for all the costs, lol. It would be a great holiday destination  And congrats on your weight loss, you're rocking it :drinker:
  • I love to sing in the car, volume up and pounding it out. I was singing away one day stopped at the lights, looked across and this guy in a ute was laughing his head off but gave me the thumbs up. If I give people a giggle and they drive off smiling, cool...what a nice gift to give strangers
  • Good Luck with the travels. I'm losing for my trip to Canada next February, was hoping to go next month but my boss refused my leave application  On the up side it gives me longer to lose that extra 20kg
  • Aussie in Tassie
  • 2 Kids I was 21 - Daughter is now 27 Next 23 - Son is now 25
  • Welcome to MFP, the friendliest place in town =)
  • My doctor advised me to ignore it because I am not a city or town  He explained it was only ever originally meant to be used as a tool for statisticians/census takers who were taking information on the general populous. He admitted it actually annoys the crap out of him that people are made to feel guilty by the…
  • Motivating me? Well first, I'm motivating me  I've lost 73 lbs/33kg and I like what I see, so I'm pushing towards the last 20kg. Next seeing my partner in 4months and knocking his socks off  Of course it is getting hard to move this last lot of weight and sometimes it is frustrating:grumble: ...but going…
  • Quick and simple is coleslaw Or sauté it in a little butter and garlic, add mushrooms, bacon and use it to top a baked potato, sprinkle a little cheese on top of it all then grill the cheese
