Hahaha that sounds perfect! I'm also hosting this year, and I don't like turkey... maybe I'll make bacon the protein of choice! And maybe have some veggies and salad as side options. Nothing will make me give up mashed potatoes and (sneakily lactose-free) macaroni and cheese on Thanksgiving though, even if I do eat them in…

<--- Siberian Husky, because they're awesome. Super sweet, love people and don't like to be alone, smart, with big personalities. Ours likes to try to cuddle on the couch and desperately wants to be friends with our cats. But they may be too smart... which makes them stubborn. Like, 'I'm not going to do what you tell me to…

Go Colts! (and I'll still cheer for Peyton, but I don't consider that cheering for the Broncos... the logic is a bit twisted)

Congrats OP- that's fantastic! NSVs are the best :flowerforyou:
-
NSV = non-scale victory bump = commenting on something to either make it show up on their profile so their friends will see it, or to bring it up to the top of the forum lists

I love getting to the end of the day and realizing that I can have a "treat" (I'm still working on trying to eat a bigger share of my calories during the day- right now I end up with lots built up at night!) I LOVE having the energy, stamina and strength to do things that sound like fun (hiking, swimming)- esp. since my…

Interesting topic. I'm awfully close to the 2,000 cal mark- 5'4", 138 lbs, and I've been maintaining for a month at 2100-2200 calories a day. I'm hoping that I can increase my LBM and see that number go a little higher, but I'm happy at more than 2,000 a day :)

I've got a couple of extra codes left- send me a private message if you want one. I don't want to post it here and have any of the people that I've already sent it to miss out!

Or certain smart phones- pretty sure that they can sync with the some of the recent iPhone and Android models.

Just from my experience, I think that you'll find that a lot of people on MFP either ignore or remove the sugar counter, as long as they don't have an underlying health reason for counting sugar (i.e. diabetes, etc.). Personally, I switched mine out for fiber- you can do that under diary settings. MFP's settings are…

This^^^ because it deserves a few more repeats. GREAT job! Congrats, and keep at it- I can't wait to see your next update :drinker:

You can add me as well if you'd like! I get on here a lot and like to encourage my friends! I try to log on daily, but we also like to go camping on the weekends, so I miss occasionally and my counter for days of logging is always resetting! so frustrating :(

If the MFP goals don't seem right, another option is that you can calculate your BMR and TDEE via scooby's workshop (http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/) or IIFYM (http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/)- I found that they give me much more reasonable estimates for how much I need to eat. TDEE-10% or 15% works much…

I took a quick look through your diary, and I think it looks pretty good. Sodium is high, but you can help to control that by eating at home more, or by replacing some processed foods with fresh ones. You've got a fair amount of veggies in there- that's good. No need to do a low carb diet unless you have a health reason…

Me! I enjoy sweets, but I don't crave them. Salty foods on the other hand... I can't keep chex mix in the house, it's like my kryptonite. Sweet potato chips are my favorite. Luckily I don't have any trouble finding room in my calories and macros to fit in both sweet and salty!

You are such an inspiration- congratulations on your success, and hugs and pats from my husky to yours!! More importantly- kudos to you for having taken back your life. You have so much to be proud of :flowerforyou:

Sure! I have a Fitbit Zip, and I wear it all day every day. The idea of the Fitbit is that you put your information in when you set it up, and then it calculates your daily calorie burn based on your stats and activity level. So it counts not only the calories from just walking, but also from when you're just sitting…

This one isn't going to get better for you- Oxford English Dictionary actually includes a definition for the word 'literally' to describe how the word is used 'deliberately in non-literal contexts,' and apparently has been used that way for many years. Doesn't make me like it any more though... For more:…

After having gone through extensive testing for Crohn's (which runs in my family), it was finally sorted out that I am lactose and soy intolerant. Unfortunately, it took two years to figure it out because the first time that I did an exclusion test for dairy, I swapped out milk for soy milk and was just as sick as ever.…

Like a lot of other people- Honeycrisp are my favorites- SO GOOD! But I also found some SweeTango's at the Farmer's Market last weekend, and they were very similar to Honeycrisp, and quite delicious. Going to grab the one that's in my lunch right now....

Hmmm, I'm glad to see a couple of banana-free recipes up there! Can't wait to try them. If you have a smoothie recipe with banana that doesn't taste like banana I'm willing to try it, but I really don't like the flavor! My most common smoothie: 1.5 cups mixed frozen berries .5 cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt 1 cup almond…

IN! Especially for smoothies that don't involve bananas

OMG I can't have Hot Tamales in the house without eating ALL of them. tried keeping the Halloween-size small packages around, but even that didn't work.

Yes! Getting new clothes that fit will help reinforce the positive changes. If you're still in the process of losing weight, then discount stores and secondhand shops will be more affordable. There are a couple of consignment stores that I really like where I live- I can sell a few items, then put any money that I get from…

Thanks- this is a great visual!

I would highly recommend doing at least 1 or 2 classes in a studio if you can find the money for it- often studios will offer lower rates for newcomers, or have coupons or Groupons, etc. That will give you a chance to learn the form and breathing techniques, and, probably more importantly, ask lots of questions. In a class…

5'4, 138 and US size 8- last time I weighed this much I was definitely in size 10s

Way to go! That's really impressive progress, and as arnpjenn said above me, very inspiring! Congrats :)

And me! I'm brand new to EM2WL, and would love more friends that share this line of thinking :)

Ok, thanks, I think I've got it! I have been tracking everything on MFP and letting it sync to my Fitbit. But I can see how the Fitbit syncing back to MFP now, while I'm resetting would be problematic. I'm unsyncing the two, and will log my exercise on Fitbit, and keep track of TDEE and whether I'm going over my usual…
